I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. But the fight was signed and Pirog did pull out with a back injury.
CaneloMaidana is a moron and a troll.
Pirog was my boy! I was being sarcastic towards that goober canelomaidana
Golovkin saw this and knew he'd never fight Pirog.
What!? Golovkin signed to fight Pirog. Pirog got hurt training for the GGG fight and never fought again. I think that would have been a great fight. Hell. It could have been a multi-fight war like Pacquiao - Marquez
When/if jacobs signs up to fight golovkin, he will suddenly be a bum and people will go on about pirog knocking him out every day from the fight being announced until the ring walk.
If the fight doesnt happen and golovkin doesnt fight him, jacobs will be the most dangerous middlweight on the planet and golovkin is scared to fight him.
This is how it works on this site.
To me it is hilarious that you now know how it feels to be a Floyd fan. Seems pretty unfair now doesn't it?
Yeah, it was a very quick, instinctive response by Wilder and the overhead camera replays give a great view of it. But if Szpilka had kept his left hand up next to his chin while stepping in, then thrown a right, he might have caught Deontay out there.
The margins for error are very thin in there...that's for sure.
Devastating. Good on wilder for capitalizing on that opening.

Mora had Jacobs on Queer Street during the last minute of their 1st round. His leg movement was sketchy AF.
I swear to god GGG can knock Jacobs out with a jab.
It would be a great win, but Jacobs is hardly B-level.
What gets me is that it never gets brought up that he almost died from cancer within a year after the fight. One would have to figure that would play some role in his ability to win a difficult fight less that a year before.
It is such an uplifting story to me about Mr. Jacobs. What determination and heart he had/has to go through that.
Now if Jacobs just had some balls then we could actually see a decent fight.
Are there any Danny Jacobs fans on this site??
If so please tell him to man up, stop the excuses and fight GGG in December.
This video has been posted before but it's worth looking at again.
At 4:10 it shows GGG using a type of shift which might have been the same move Szpilka tried to use on Wilder. But Szpilka would have been starting it from his southpaw stance, not ideal against a right hand power puncher, but it still might have worked if he'd done it properly.
Nice video...good share. Whatever szpilka was attempting, he ran into a hard right hand for his trouble.
Being that he didn't shift while throwing the straight left, he shoulda probably skipped the left hook there and thrown a right...but the shift is generally just stepping through with the foot the same side as you're punching. Sometimes it's done inadvertently by over committing or just having sloppy footwork. There are some fighters that use it well to close distance and create angles for follow up shots, but generally it's not a good practice imo. You can get caught square and it brings your head forward with it...there's a danger of walking into a shot and making it much harder cuz of the forward momentum of the head. Definitely something for guys who are experienced and comfortable with it.

I havent seen a group of guys cling to a lone loss that happened 6 years ago like GGG fans do with Pirog.
What's funny is these same guys use to forget about Pac being KOd by singurat and whatever the hell the other guys name is. Now all of a sudden these same guys can't seem to forget Jacobs losing to a much more proven fighter than that of the GUYS Pac was KOd by.
Weird
I wonder why?
True, no fighter should be written off and denigrated as a bum because of a KO loss that happened when he was 23 years old, like Jacobs, or only 22 years old, like Lemieux. But that's what happens at this place.
Fight ggg and dont hide behind promoter or money
Noone telling you to fight for peanuts but the trend seems to be guys such as billie joe saunders having 1 or 2 good wins then asking for unrealsitic money to avoid threats
Hopefully jacob doesnt do that
Yes, the pic you posted was right after Byrd waived off the fight. Immediately Jacobs rises up and attempts to get off the floor while being restrained by Byrd; hence Byrds arms extended.
We started this convo off with you saying jacobs was unconscious. I guess you don't know the definition.
Why didn't Hatton, Pac, Khan and Kirkland attempt to get up like Jacobs did when the ref waived off their respected fights?
Because they were KTFO; Jacobs wasn't. Anyway, I won't talk about this much more with you.
You bringing up Pirog with Jacobs is like me bringing up Ouma with GGG. Jacobs and GGG have grown considerably since those fights.
Jacobs will reign supremem when they meet
Byrd stopped counting at 4 and waved off the fight because he thought Jacobs, who was out cold and not moving, might be seriously hurt.
Then, as Byrd knelt down to check on Jacobs, Danny came round, lifted his head off the canvas and seemed to be telling Byrd that he was ok. But he obviously wasn't ok and the fight had already been stopped by then anyway.
Jacobs was throwing more punches sure... but the punches that actually counted? He was far behind.
In the entire fight there was only 1 or 2 punches that Jacobs threw that had any effect on Pirog.
Pirog dominated the fight up until the KO.
Even the commentators were saying, this is one fight where the numbers did not tell the real story.
Sturm won his title in the ring(even tho he won it from a dude who won a vacant title aswell...did GGG?
Sturm didn't win his super title from anybody. He fought for a vacant title - which nobody had held for 4 years - against a guy called Giovanni Lorenzo. Lorenzo had never held a world title and he wasn't the WBA's No1 contender - GGG was.
Meanwhile, GGG, who was the interim champion and demanding his mandatory shot at Sturm, was nominated to fight for a downgraded "regular" title against Nilson Tapia.
It later came out that Sturm's promoters had promised a 6 figure "donation" to the WBA in return for them bringing back their super title and nominating Sturm to fight for it, instead of making him defend against GGG.
