I noticed Lemieux gets overrated on this forum, mainly by Golovkin fans trying to make his resume look better.
How do you rate him? I have him as a solid b-.
Dang. Lemieux's best win just lost to an Olympian
Michel Borges 2nd Brazil boxer to advance to rd of 16, scores UD win over Hassan N'Dam. 30-27 (2x), 29-28 #boxing #Rio2016— Jake Donovan (@JakeNDaBox_v2) August 6, 2016

Really?
I'll be honest with you, you don't really follow the sport of boxing if you don't know who the titleholders and top contenders are.
I had heard his name, but all I really knew was that he was another dude with a high KO % and was signed to Golden Boy. His fights prior weren't televised on any major stations so I had no way of seeing him fight.
Kovalev performed well against an old but "slick" Hopkins. How many "slick" fighters has Golovkin fought??? Willie Monroe Jr. future HOF right????
GGG has killed all your American hopes all the guys who actually know anything about boxing unlike you BJS, Jacobs and so on have pretty much rated GGG as the best fighter about right now.
Pretty much puts all your thoughts dead in the water.
Yes he did, you know GGG is the more dangerous fighter of the two and If you don't you don't know shiet about boxing dummy.
Kovalev is a fighter who doesn't know how to deal with slick boxers he struggles and he would lose to Adonis, GGG is a fighter who is all round he is a fantastic fighter with the top amateur pedigree and the pro transition thanks to Abel Sanchez.

So Ward moved up to 175 to fight Kovalev so he can duck GGG. Makes a lot of sense...

Lemieux is a tougher version of Marvin Hagler, only with the smarts of Ray Leonard, the power of Ray Robinson, and the defense of Willie Pep. I once saw him beat both Klitschko brothers in a row sparring, then he ran a marathon in 2 hours flat.
Yeah, seriously, this guy is a C- fighter, not even top 15 in a very weak weight class.
Ward ran up to 175lbs to avoid the fight, GGG remained at 160 that's the difference the only one ducking the fight is Ward and you know it.

the only thing i really notice on this forum is the hate for golovkin. 'the golovtards are unbearable'...but all i see is the same 4-5 dudes making anti-golovkin threads.
andre ward? dude hasnt fought in the weight class above middleweight since 2013. andre ward will have his 3rd tune-up fight tonight, yeahi'll fight LIL G but i need 3 tune-ups first.
i pretty much chalk it up to blacks being insecure. god forbid there are good fighters who arent black. **** off.
So why didn't GGG want to fight Ward again???

Ward was a little baby when he went into that super six how does it feel knowing GGG would have been willing to fight any opponent home or away infact his entire career has been away from home and he has treated every fight in a dominant fashion giving the fans a show.
Ward is a typical modern day spoilt fighter who doesn't appreciate the fans he is a no good waste of space who is contributing to the death of the sport we have GGG to make the sport great again him and Trump gonna make USA great again.

I hope you're trolling. Ward accomplished more in the Super 6 than GGG has accomplished in his whole career. You should just hope the Canelo fight happens. Golovkin isn't getting any younger and he's done very little for his legacy.

If it wasn't for Golovkin then Lemieux could easily beat at the top of the MW division right now, so I think sh*tting on him is pretty ridiculous.
He's a solid fighter with the hardest punch in the division and his best years lay ahead of him.
All I read was -
Waaa waaa waaaa
GGG is making boxing great again and bringing in casual fans to the sport, Ward ain't bringing shiet to the sport that's a fact.

How you rate Lemieux depends on whether you think he's improved since his two back-to-back losses 4 years ago when he was 22. He's 27 years old now.
With that said, yeah--- I do believe if you swap him out currently to back then he would beat both fighters. I think he's improved. Better conditioning and stronger fighter. Do I think he's a top-tier fighter? No, but I still give him around a B-level rating. He has above-average hand-speed and power.
Yes, I know using your face to counter your opponents jabs is pretty bad defense, but it is what it is I guess.
