I don't understand you boxing fans.
GGG tried to get all the top MW in the ring this September.
Middleweight:
Canelo dropped his belt, fights Liam Smith, he basically triggered that situation with his taunts and big talks that he would face GGG this Sept.
Danny Jacobs will only face GGG in ~18 months, when the fight makes more "sense" and money.
Saunders priced himself out multiple times, probably fights on the Canelo undercard.
Eubank had over 3 weeks to sign the fight and wasnt able to because his father made ridiculous demands and wanted to control the whole show.
Super Middleweight:
Gilberto Ramirez had a fight scheduled and now is out with an injury.
Badou Jack: In Unification talks with DeGale, plan to fight end of this year.
DeGale: Same as Jack
Abraham/Groves: Both protected by Sauerland, not getting close to GGG.
Jnr Middleweight:
Charlo brothers: No intention to fighting GGG, drain themselves to 154.
Andrade: Wants to face GGG once he unifies 154, maybe in 2 years.
Lara: Talks big on Social Media/Interviews, but never once contacted K2, PBC promoter even says fight can't happen because of TV problems
GGG had the fight with Hearn and Eubank basically locked in, the deal with HBO for a UK fight on Sept 10th was in place and Eubank Sr pulled out, made the deal impossible. Now Brook stepped up, took the deal.
For GGG it was either, say no to Brook, probably not fight at all until December or accept the Brook challenge which gives him the criticism but he stays active, he wants to fight and build his fanbase in the UK, open more markets and build his name, so the the other UK fighters, like Saunders, DeGale, Callum Smith and even Eubank can't ignore GGG any longer.
You seriously rather have GGG sit out and not fight at all until December, or where does he magically find another good name opponent within a coupe days? Give me the list of fighters then.
You need to focus your hatred and disappointment to the fighters who are responsible for this! You know GGG wanted to face the top MWs in September.
Brook is better than Eubank anyway! Just cos CEJ is bigger doesn't make him more formidable or a better opponent! That's like saying FMJ or Pac would have been lesser opponents for Martinez than Murray & Macklin LOL Thurman v Golovkin would be a better resume boost than Jacobs for Golovkin too IMO
Golovkin needs to get Saunders after Brook & then trundle off to 168 to give Ramirez a whooping..
Well to be fair, they are forced to settle most of the time. They obviously wanted Canelo/Saunders/Eubank/Jacobs but you can't force guys to fight, even with mandatories, and after they realized they couldn't get any of these guys, they settled.
They obviously liked the UK deal Hearn had in place for Eubank, so they took it when they just switched the name to Brook. I think K2 fell in love with the contract/money/UK market and not the opponent. That's where K2 messed up.
Those fights would mean more for sure, since they are middleweights. Problem is no one knows who they are, so it's no different than Dominic Wade really. They wanted a big fight if not a significant fight, hearn offered them a pretty big name as far as the boxing world goes. Problem obviously is he's two weight classes lower!
It's not a good look for K2 and now the pressure is really on them to make a big/significant fight after Brook. Imagine after Brook they have to settle again for Heiland or Johnson. People will just say, "oh they are back to fighting bums again". They have to get Canelo/Saunders/Jacobs or 168 pounds next, that's the bottom line, anything less will look really bad. They put themselves in this position by accepting a welterweight as a challenge, so that's on them.
Pretty sure they won't get big fight in December either. Saunders is going to fight Canelo at some point so I can't see either of them getting into the ring with ggg before then. Jacob still waiting for ggg to be a bigger star so that fight can generate ppv money. Maybe lee or eubank but I wouldn't consider those big fight.
I'm hoping the wba force Jacob next like they said they would if not I see him fighting like some random guy then fight zurdo early 2017 which is ok. Problem is if they do fight another random this forum will have 15 threads on the first page created by two people bashing ggg lol.
so out of 1,568 MW HBO wouldnt have paid for none of them. GOTCHA
You would probably be the first one making up twenty threads about how crap his opponent is if he got any one else. Hell, people here were calling Eubank a bum. Seems like nothing will make you lot happier other than GGG moving up 15 pounds and getting his ass kicked. Not happening though, he is MW for good.
they did not have to fight kell brook.
they accepted terms for a eubank deal, and then eubank's dad went and made outrageous demands to eddie hearn.
so hearn went to brook with the same terms golovkin accepted! they didn't have to fight a WW, but they did.
the detractors of teh world would continue doing the same thing they've always been doing, which is ignore that golovkin is being ducked, and crap on the middleweight opponent that they ended up fighting because of the ducks. but fighting a WW is still awful.
Again you have no arguments. Facts are not excuses.
what facts?
you made one opinion and three questions that you dont even know the answer to 100% cuz you dont work for hbo or lilg's team.:smashfrea
You have Wilder fighting a fat out of shape punching bag who only really won ONE fight out of his last SIX.
How do you think GGG starts new negotiations with some random MW when the date is in 8 weeks? How do you think HBO with their limited budget will even pay for a MW with no name?
You realize that fighting Brook opens the UK market and puts pressure on Eubank, Saunders, DeGale etc?
Man you make so many ****ing valid points.
What happens in December. I would have liked for him to not fight a welterweight. You know, the same exact thing you bashed canelo for
Still waiting for your list of fighters that would get approved by HBO and would be accepted by the GGG haters.

Excuses.... excuses.... and more excuses.
So you want GGG to sit out and not fight at all? I got it. You really hate this guy.

this is true, heiland's been in the ranking of the WBC for a very long time now. they just wanted a big money fight, it was eubank or this.
I'm just gonna call bullshit on team lilg. I actually feel bad for him cuz imo I honestly dont think ggg has any pull whatsoever on who he fights.
Nah, it would just be another Dominic Wade type opponent and clearly K2 didn't think they could afford doing that at this time. They apparently think the backlash they received fighting 147 Brook isn't as bad as fighting another unknown middleweight.
This is what I don't understand about ggg or his team. They settle. Regardless of what they have their eyes set on to start looking for opponents, it seems like they always settle for whatever falls on their lap. Regardless of the calibre of the opponent it might be. As far as backlash goes, I have no idea why they would think that when they were on a mission to discredit the "disrespect to boxing" that Canelo made while choosing khan.
Not sure I agree with them here on that logic, I mean maybe they could have got Heiland or Tureano Johnson and sure, while people would **** on it, at least he's consistently fighting the best middleweights, and that's all you can really ask for. On the other-hand, I see why they took Eddie Hearn's second offer in Brook - big deal in the UK, brings Golovkin to the UK market, I get all that. Just not a good fight and a crappy situation all around.
Heiland would be better but nothing to go crazy over. Tureano a little better than Heiland. I don't get it, I guess they might really be only wanting that big fight that seems to avoid them. I still think sticking to a MW, top 1-3 tier would be better than brook, but that's just me. Maybe a Khurtsidize fight would've been nice but who knows. It's just a very pointless fight to make. Especially at his state and what his talent shows us.
I'm a huge Golovkin fan but I don't like this fight.
Now, i understand some of the reasons for it and I know it will help him in the european market, blah blah blah...but I'm just not excited for the fight.
I will watch because Golovkin is one of the few must see boxers and so will all of you. I hope Jacobs grows a pair for December.
 seriously what are you talking about right now? Aint no one trying to fool anyone. It's a shit fight. GGG vs any welterweight at middleweight is a shit fight and you know it.

GGG vs Jorge Heiland is a much, much better fight than GGG vs a welterweight.
this is true, heiland's been in the ranking of the WBC for a very long time now. they just wanted a big money fight, it was eubank or this.
