If he does that, then his stock would be at an all time high.. I would ride the momentum and stay active vs other algieri/bundu caliber of fighters and then look for an eliminator vs a bigger name like ghost or Berto, then by next summer, spence should have a pretty big name and would be in line for huge fights vs thurman, Brook, etc
Who is Bundu?
Not even in the Top 20, didn't win a single round vs Thurman.
Wake me up when Spence fights someone in the Top 10 at Welter.
Also by this forum's logic Spence is ducking the Charlo's, Lara, Andrade etc because he said he moves up for a Canelo fight but doesn't want to face the other top guys at 154.
Algieri was in the top 10
You're getting all of that from a fight with Bundu? Come on.
He very well might be the truth and he very well might emerge as the longtime ruler of the division but beating Bundu will not answer any of those questions. I fully expect him to blow through Bundu and doing so won't really tell me any more than I already know. It's a good fight for Spence bc it's way to get a shot at the title; it's nothing more.
Bundu has shown himself a good enough boxer to be able to navigate himself through a hard 12 rounds against world-level operators (Keith Thurman, after the Bundu performance, has proven himself to be a top 3 welterweight).
If Spence blows through Bundu in 4 rounds or less, and continued doubt of Spence's ability is foolish; he'd shown himself to be a bonafide top-5 welterweight in the sport, with a fight against Brook/Thurman/(Bradley, to a lesser extent) being the last real measuring stick to see where he stands in the top-3.
Bundu in 4, Brook/Thurman/Bradley in 4 and Spence Jr is the #1 welterweight fighter on the planet, bar none.

Because of the absurd amount of ducking in modern day boxing, I don't even care much about resume anymore.. Sadly, if you have good names on your resume, it just means that nobody is afraid of you..I go by what I see...And Spence is already a top 3 welterweight in my opinion, alongside Brook and Pacquaio if he isn't retired.
And I expect him to destroy Bundu.
That's bs, they fight who Haymon wants them to. You think Garcia for example, would turn around ans say no to Haymon? Cmon man, be real. Stop burying your head in the sand just because you wana suck Spence off.
And you still havent answered which fighters ducked Spence?
And you also havent answered the point of this thread, is Bundu better than ALgieiri? If not, then it's not a step forward for Spence and it doesn't do anything for him to fight a guy who is a fringe european fighter.
PROVE IT! I don't have to argue with you lets hear from the people who actually work with and speak with Al Haymon how the process works when it comes to fighters selecting their fights:
Listen Closing Starting at 2:20 Stephen "Breadman" Edwards, J Rock Trainer/Manager talk about the Process of making a fight with Haymon:
So while people on this forum just "MAKE UP" stuff I would much rather go by what people who actually work with him are saying. Fighters HAVE A CHOICE! Some choose to take the easy route while others truly want THE BEST!
If Spence Jr throttles Bundu, then he truly is "The Truth" and will be the fighter who emerges as the longterm ruler at 147 (until he moves up later in his career).
Leonard Bundu doesn't have a ton of miles on him (from what's been made available, it seems like he got a late start to boxing), has shown himself to be a real good crafty fighter, and has proven that he's world level (though Thurman basically skunked him in their fight, Bundu worked his way through the twelve rounds and didn't really get blasted out).
Bundu is that next test; if Spence blows through him, the only other guy I see even being near competitive with him, on sheer talent, is Kell Brook.

I wish people held GGG to the same standards.
What standard? You mean a logical progression of competition? If the best your division has to offer is Jacobs/Saunders, then that's who you fight. If your division has Thurman/Porter/Brook/Garcia, then that's who you fight. Spence is not up to that level yet imo. If he beats him, then he progresses to worn-torn veteran like Ghost/Berto. If he beats them, then the top guys have to pay attention. They might avoid him, they might not. When the right fights don't get made, we get GGG vs. Monroe/Eubank instead. It'll be harder to avoid Spence because the majority of the best WWs are under PBC.
They're fighters not SLAVES, not even Haymon can force his fighters to take fights they don't want to take they all have a CHOICES. In Fact beyond just Haymon, NO PROMOTER can force guys to take fights they don't want to take they're all given a list of potential opponents and they with their team choose who is next it is not Haymon telling guys who to fight next

I'm clearly talking about the Haymon backing that Spence has. Haymon owns 2 of the 4 belt holders in the division, he could easily match Spence up with one of them.
And why do you think fighters are ducking SpencE?

Why would Spence turn down Bundu which would lead to a fight with either Vargas or Brook for two world titles. Are you serious or are you trolling?
By asking me to source it lets me know you have no idea about boxing. The IBF has sanctioned this bout as an eliminator. In order for this fight to be an eliminator the fighters ahead of Bundu would have had to informed the IBF they don't want the fight. If they didn't turn down the fight this fight wouldn't be sanctioned as an eliminator. Do you even know the rules?
If Vargas wins, there's no guarantee that Spence will get to fight him.
And Spence is already IBF mando, he fought the eliminator.
ANyway, like I said, the point of this thread isn't boxing politics but the fact that the Bundu win does nothing for Spence. It's a worse fight than Algieri, i.e. a step back. If you don't think it is then you must not know boxing.
I got new for you, none of the top guys are fighting Spence Jr unless they have to so YES, going the IBF route and getting your eliminator out of the way and putting yourself in position to get Kell Brook in the ring that likely the only way he will get the bigger names in the ring with him
"Financial Clout"? The man just turned 26 and only been pro for 4 years now, he is still working his way up in the Division, Financial Clout will come especially if he captures the IBF Title. I get it fans want to fast forward these guys careers and just want to throw them in with the best but name me someone at the top who is challenging Spence Jr but he is turning is down to fight Bundu?

Frankly, Spence should be getting pushed simply because he's already 26. These are his very best, peak years and they shouldn't be wasted on him getting small, 'prospect' fights.
I can understand staying busy and getting experience, because he's still not had many fights and started later, but he's shown he's already past this level, and they should really get him into that next level so as not to waste his best years fighting stiffs that don't really do much for him.
Do what you need to to get that title shot, but that should be all. Hopefully that's what these fights are about now rather than growing fights.
