Who wins in this battle of gold medalists?
People are very high on Loma right now so I wonder how people think he would match up against the cyclone from Guantanamo.
I honestly feel it is a mismatch. Gamboa does everything Loma does just faster.... What do you guys think?
Lomachenko isn't taller....He's not faster..He doesn't throw as compact punches. Gamboa even has the better reflexes.
Do you honestly believe Loma would win rounds VS Crawford?Or hurt him like Gamboa did to him...
The answer is on Loma team's decision to make the fight.
If they try to avoid the fight there is the answer for you. His team think he will have a great chance of losing. If they go after then we don't need to speculate we will see the actual fight.
This fight is a no brainier, HBO love Gamboa, Bob Arum have keep doing business with Gamboa even after the break up. 2 gold medalist, Gamboa probably have a bigger name recognition than even Loma.
At 130 there is really not a bigger name to fight that Gamboa and he will take it without any problem. When you have a 140lbs unified champion saying Gamboa still toughest fight I've have there is no point to delay this fight.
Make a build up, make then fight somebody in the same cart and then you can have the big fight next.
No. It doesn't. Reflexes do. Which is coupled with an understanding of distance to create counters. A fighter like Canelo is far superior at it, by so much it's not even funny.
Yes, Postol was very disappointing, no head movement or ability to change angles to get close or create punching opportunities. You act as if Crawford was keeping a Shawn Porter off of him. Postol didn't want to come in, he was just trying to draw leads to counter. He could takes some lessons of Loma on how to attack less predictably, maybe watch Loma Vs Russell.
What did I say was wrong? 2 fighters, 50/50 fight. Statistically accurate statement.
I will admit in retrospect that I misread the styles. I thought Crawford would try to stand in front of Postol and truly outbox/beat him up(Floyd/Gatti-Ndou style) and that would play into Postol's hand. He was smarter than that.
If he's smart he'll avoid Manny. It's a huge fight and the pay off would be big but it's a very hard fight for him if he can't hurt Manny. How do you think the Manny fight will play out?
You saying Bud's 'reflexes' aren't timing? LOL. Just random super-fast reflex responses??
Bud must be getting those reflexes triggered when his girlfriend goes in for a hug LOL.
If Crawford fought Manny at 140, it's an interesting fight. But IMO, Manny loses. And IMO Crawford would hurt Manny. Manny has underrated skills as a boxer but they are not of the same technical level as Crawford's. Manny's kryptonite is a good counter puncher, and TC is brilliant at it. You remember how Marquez KO'ed Pac? Well crawford could do that too. Not saying he would though. Either guy could get hurt but my money in a bet would be on a crawford all day, with Manny hesistant at many points throughout the fight. Don't forget, Manny is old now and has a ton going on in his life. Crawford is in my eyes a top 2 p4p guy. Bradley got dropped in the 3rd fight because he fought a different style, sitting on shots and winging power punches. Same in the second. An on-the-move, sharp counter puncher, especially with power, is a big problem for Pac's style. Keith Thurman would also give Manny hell. At 147 I can't say for Crawford, as I don't know how well his speed and movement would carry up, but I'd still pick him over an aged Manny.
If you can't see it, you won't see it when I tell you. Timing covers all punches. Not just 'big counters'. He beat him to the jab. He thouroughly outboxed and timed him to perfection. Guys win rounds against crawford as he times them and lures them in for a finish. Postol wouldn't come in like the others though, so a big counter was rarely on the cards. He is not getting outboxed by them. I didn't call crawford the new anything, just reminding you of a few things you said that proved to be wrong...

Timing? What big counter apart from the one Postol was hurt by did he time?
Crawford looked good, Got Postol to walk to him and never got into exchanges in Postol's terms. Really was not what people are making out to be. Postol followed him straight on throwing 1.2's the whole time. I never thought Postol was amazing just doubted Crawford's ability after seeing him tagged by Lundy. I knew Crawford was smart, I said Postol was a straight up stiff guys who fights out of a strict form , from one angle and leans with his jab and Crawford used every part of that against him.
Don't see what you accomplished apart from sitting on your ass for a few hours though :)
If you wanna go call Crawford the new "Floyd" feel free, but I think Garcia's win over Khan rates higher than that at 140 tbh and a 'Floyd" would've stopped Postol. Still Crawford owns 140 now unless Broner wants to stake a claim.
If you can't see it, you won't see it when I tell you. Timing covers all punches. Not just 'big counters'. He beat him to the jab. To do that to a man with a longer reach requires... wait for it... timing. He thouroughly outboxed and timed him to perfection. Guys win rounds against crawford as he times them and lures them in for a finish. Postol wouldn't come in like the others though, so a big counter was rarely on the cards. As soon as he did, i.e round 5 and 11 or 12 he did get countered with big shots. He is not getting outboxed by these opponents, he is timing them. I didn't call crawford the new anything, just reminding you of a few things you said that proved to be wrong...
Oh yeah, I came back for you. Tell me IDSAB now lol. You plum. Postol had a reach and height advantage and ya boy Bud still whooped his ass. TIMING TIMING TIMING. TC gives rounds away to get the spectacular finish, he is very fast if he needs to be.
You told me i didn't know about boxing and there's you thinking it was a 50/50 when I said Crawford would outclass Postol and possibly even KO him. Now you know who knows and who doesn't.

Loma picks him apart and stops him.
Thomas Dulorme was beating Crawford with Superior a speed and shorter punches before being rocked by one punch and then fighting on to provide a fight of the year effort while rocking Crawford in the process? Wow, I totally missed that part... Dulorme is 5"10 with 7 inch reach, these things matter.

I've never bet against Crawford so far and even think the upcoming fight vs Postol is 50/50.
You told me i didn't know about boxing and there's you thinking it was a 50/50 when I said Crawford would outclass Postol and possibly even KO him. Now you know who knows and who doesn't.
You forum warriors are so dissapointing. Gamboa got smashed on the chin in the fifth round by a perfectly timed right. That was where he lost the fight.
TIMING.
Crawford would have KOed Gamboa if he was exactly the same weight. Gamboa always goes wild and gets clipped. Loads of people have rocked that chin (Salido, Farenas etc). Of course size matters, but it was crawford timing that won him the fight (same with his fight against Dulorme). I also find it funny that you say i don't know about boxing, Sigh.....
Point still stands Gamboa gets blasted out by anyone with good skills and timing, including Loma. The chin is glass. Gamboa is basically a copy of khan at a lower weight - fast as hell but over-commits, gets tagged, and gets dropped. Then when it happens a whole fanbase gets stuck thinking he was the greatest ever, and just can't seem to accept the facts.
It's called congnitive dissonance when your emotions make you ignore the facts clearly given to you.
Fact #1
Gamboa over-commits and gets tagged, often!
Fact #2
When he gets tagged, he gets hurt bad. Soft chin!
Fact #3
To beat a man like this (who is really fast), you wait for him to over-commit and then demolish that chin with a well timed shot. Or if you're confident he can't hurt you, just trade with him. Froch-Groves 2 was a prime example of this. And froch said, timing kills speed.
If your only response is 'you don't know about boxing' all i can say is cognitive dissonance. Smell the coffee boys.only one question, what kept Crawford on his feet after Gamboa hurt him in the last round, his chin or the fact that he was around 150 pounds?
It seems like there is a lot of people that would still be interested in seeing a Loma-Gamboa fight.
I would like to see Gamboa make a comeback first. I don't even know why he signed with some random promoter. No news have been heard from him since he signed, in March, I think it was.
It's a shame how this guys career went. It seemed like a lot of people were behind him and he was one of the reasons why his career went the way it did imo.
I wouldn't mind Loma-Gamboa, especially if Gamboa can have a comeback not just fighting once a year like he has been doing for quite some time.
I wouldn't even mind if Gamboa has a comeback at 135 instead of 130. I never thought he belonged at 135, but he did extremely well against Crawford who is a huge Lightweight. He swept the first four rounds imo and he had his moments in the last few rounds, hurting Terence a few times. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to handle a Crolla or a Linares tbh.
I think I heard Gamboa said with this inactivity and his age he may feel more comfortable at 135 anyway. I just think there would be more room for him at 135 than 130 at the moment, but who wouldn't want to see him in the mix at 130? So it depends what he wants to do, but him and his promoter have to keep him active for now. He doesn't have to fight 4-5 times a year, but he can't sit out either
Right now Loma wins handily. 126 though? It's a pickem fight. Gamboa at 126 was......one of of kind. Speed, reflexes, power in both hands, boxing ability. He was one of my very favorite fighters before he signed up with 50.
