Martin Murray comes to mind, he just has a very 'robbable' style, haha. He really isn't that bad a fighter, no matter on the personal bias for or against GGG. Imagine if he had Canelo style judging behind him Beat Sturm for WBA title Beat Martinez for WBC and lineal titles Lost to Golovkin, but no shame there Moved up and beat Abraham at 168 for his WBO belt That isn't a bad resume at all. I guess we'll know if he convincingly beats Groves next You missed Mauricio Herrera. Oddly enough, the man has fought the likes of Ruslan Provodnikov, Mike Alvarado, Frankie Gomez, Karim Mayfield, Hank Lundy, and Mike Dallas Jr. yet his only title shot was against Danny Garcia. I don't count the fights against Johan Perez or Jose Benavidez Jr. for the "interim" titles. And with how awful and unmotivated Herrera looked in his loss against Gomez it looks like he'll have to settle for being "The People's Champ". I think he's done. Both good choices. Totally forgot about them. And they arguably beat the lineal champion in their division.

Only options to consider were Vanes and Andre Dirrell (I don't get the sizzle behind Diego Chaves, beyond just being a rugged guy, and matthysse's performances against Judah/Alexander, Danny Garcia, and Viktor Postol seemed to show that he was JUST short on the ability scale). Vanes and Dirrell both seemed prone to mental lapses/breakdown, but Dirrell is the far better talent, so I went with Dirrell.

Rule : had to have been in at least one world title fight. Lucas Matthysse Andre Dirrell Vanes Martiyrosan Diego Chaves Off top these are the only 4 notable fighters I could think of. There are 80 different titles out there. If you have been fighting more than seven years and haven't won a world title, it is because you have fought no one (Keith Thurman) or you are just a mediocre fighter (all the people on the list above).

They are all good but none of them are the best at their weight class. Years ago I would have voted for Matthysse , I probably misspelled his name, if so I am sorry. Today I think Vanes is fighting the best of the boxers you listed. Lucas didn't look good quitting to Postol.

lucas mathysse hands down and they made a big mistake of opting out of the IBF championship to save their mandatory right to Garcia's title, It was stupid, had Petersen been the lineal champion , mathysee would've been more than a world title holder.

Matthysse for sure. Sounds like he's coming back but the fact that he considered retirement makes it even crazier that in today's boxing with so many belts, he might have went his whole career without one.
