Anybody else think Pavlik would have beaten the **** out of GGG? Eventhough Pavlik got tagged and rocked from time to time he never was knocked out.
GGG hasn't had to fight going backwards from a bigger guy like that. He hasn't had to deal with constant pressure. He likes to fight at such a measured pace. Pavlik would have been all wrong for him.
Pavlik would have performed ass to mouth on Little G.
Isn't that amusing, that all you have is your fantasy matchups, dreaming that GGG would get beat? You have my sympathies.
Styles make fights man. Hopkins and Martinez are all wrong for Pavlik.
And after GGG finshes beating Pavlik up and down the ring, you'll say GGG style was all wrong for Pavlik. Pavlik was a flash in the pan champion who is only known for disappointing his fans.

I hate when people on this sight create these mythical matchups. In every one of them, the fighter from the past is always superior to the fighters of today.
Pavlik got KO'd by drugs and alcohol and his own stupidity. There is no reason to talk about what he would have done had he faced GGG or any active boxer.

Any other referee would've stopped Pavlik-Taylor 1 in the 2nd round.
Pavlik would be the one on the backfoot vs GGG
He took all of their punches. Taylor knocked down Froch too so Pavlik going down from him is explainable. This is about styles. GGG would beat Martinez because of styles.
Sometimes it's about styles, other times about levels
Pavlik does 3g before the 6th and gets back to his favorite bar stool before it even cools off. Golovkin ain't hard to find unless you're a dwarf Canadian. Pavlik is longer with the better jab and those right hands would let Gennady and his fans know he had been lied to his whole career
You're trying too hard, man. Pavlik wasn't laughing at Taylor's punches or Miranda's or Zunigas even. We get it, he's bigger but slow, available, bad mover and all around way less skilled. Froch would have been a better challenge

This would have been a great fight..
Ggg is obviously way more skilled, but GGG would stand in front of pavlik, and Pavlik could land some bombs that ice ggg..
GGG is much more flat footed than the lateral moving Serg or hopkins
Whom Pavlik beat? He lost all bouts to Elite boxers...
He beat a prime Jermain Taylor. He walked down Miranda, ate his punches and knocked him out.
Pavlik was nothing special. He was a good B level fighter.
I am talking about styles here. GGG has never beaten an elite fighter either.
You think GGG would beat Hopkins at 170?
Somebody tell me one fighter that GGG has beaten with ANY power at all who is actually a big MW. Lemieux was smaller than Tapia! Lemieux has no skill at all. He is as crude as they come.
Murray and Geale lmao
Even Chavez Jr. Would walk GGG down. He would lose though by decision because he sucks.
Again someone tell me a guy who was actually a big Middleweight WITH power and a chin who GGG has beaten.
At the start of every fight he is never in danger because his opponent is either weaker with no power (Murrey, Geale, Rosado, Monroe, Wade, Ouma) or they are crude/no skill (Stevens, Lemieux)
GGG is skilled, he is powerful, but is not a big Middleweight. He has never had to face adversity. Pavlik would laugh at GGG's punches.

OP; are you retarded?
Pavlik would have his face reduced to bits.
Lemieux is better than Pavlik by a landslide, Pavlik is just a no good alcoholic who had no heart and no commitment to training and remaining in the game.
GGG is also better than B-Hop in every way, until GGG has to utilize clinching and wrestling after ever 1 or 2 punches thrown then you can come back and dispute that one with me.
Losing to 45yo Hopkins
Losing to old Martinez
Bbbbut bbbut bbut beat lil G
Calzaghe would have schooled Ward and he'd have also schooled Bhop and Roy Jones Jr... Ooh wait he already did school those two, my mistake :)

Upsets can happen, Pavlik losing to Hopkins and Martinez were no upsets.
Lemieux has no defense, Rosado landed 43% of his power punches, Tapia 43%, N'dam 40%, etc. that's not good when you've already been ko'd by the likes of Rubio. Multiple fighters have walked through his punches too, 48% landed on N'dam and he couldn't put him away, Alcine is another guy a blown up 154lber that walked through his punches and rocked him.
That's lil g's career win right there lol, he's got c level fighters landing at ridiculous rates but you think he's world class, no **** he'd lose to lil g lmao
That would be a fun fight for sure. I would like to see GGG get hit by someone with that kind of power and straight punches though.
in the end, I think the height of Pavlik would work against him in this fight. The way GGG throws his right hand with that loop, a little over the top.. I think that's a problem for taller fighters. Normally it's harder to generate power punching up but this is someone who has a unique way of throwing and he steps in, right past a jab and gets good leverage onto them. Kelly a little too methodical but I could see a war. PAvlik had some in the trench battles with Miranda of course, Taylor, Zuniga was a bloodbath..he will be there to fight GGG.
anyway...I think all of a sudden you might notice that Pavlik is hesitant to throw his jab
believe me there is be a lot of classic Jack Lowe moments where he is begging Kelly to "throw the ****ing jab" "double the ****ing jab!!!"

Styles make fights, lil g doesn't possess anything close to their style lmao. Hopkins is a defensive counter puncher, while Martinez was extremely mobile and elusive.
Ward baptizes Joe, knocked down by grandpa Bernard and RJJ lmao, bailed out by the scorecards against Hopkins lmao, struggling with Bika, needed robberies against Reid and others lmao
