Most of us want to see that Canelo vs GGG fight.
It's good for boxing, its gonna do big business and we finally have a great matchup in the MW division between 2 great fighters.
GGG has fought at Middleweight in his whole career. He is close to 35 and shredding off weight will be tough.
Let's say Canelo says you we only fight @15x or we vacate the belt.
You want GGG to stand firm on 160 or you want him to go down a little to make the fight happen?
Seems like the big majority wants that fight to happen at the real MW limit of 160 and want GGG to tell Canelo to either fight 160 or drop the belt.
At least Canelo himself said he has no problem fighting at 160 in the post press conference, hopefully he will stay true to his words.
I actually voted 157-158 since i rather want to see that fight happen now.
Fighting Floyd at JMW for Floyd's JMW title
JMW LIMIT=154lbs
Golovkin is Canelo's MIDDLEWEIGHT mandatory.
Middleweight LIMIT=160lbs
Do you understand these things?
Yet GGG is still talking about going to 154 to fight Floyd despite Money no longer holding a title there.
This has nothing to do with belts, this is about GGG not understanding his position in the game. He has no leverage to force anything on Canelo. If he wanted the belt that bad he could have had it mailed to him by now by Cotto or Canelo. This is about cashing out. Canelo doesn't need him, he could fight bum ass Margarito in September and make the same money if not more. GGG has no other PPV worthy fights ahead of him.
If he actually forces the WBC to strip Canelo and doesn't take another step aside fee then I will respect him for that, but I believe that's that last thing GGG and K2 want to a happen right now or it would have been done already.
A MW title should be competed for at the MW limit... let us not pretend Canelo is the only one with a belt, it is bad enough fighting for 1 belt under the limit, let alone unifying multiple belts.
Middleweight begins at 155 and goes to a max of 160. There is no rules to state that you must weigh a minimum of 160 to fight for the middleweight title. If someone chooses to weigh 155 to fight someone who chooses to weigh 160 where is the problem?
They are within the weight category. Catch weights in boxing should never ever include a title. You're fighting for a title within a division. To qualify you must weigh between 155 and 160. Anyone that says he must weigh 155 to fight me should only do so in a non-title fight. It's up to the organisations to tell the boxers that they can get ****ed if they demand catch weights. It's that simple.
You want the belt? You can't make the rules. Fighters get away with it because they have all of the power. Dumb ass dip **** lazy **** Alphabet organisations should set the rules in accordance with their requirements to fight for their title.
I don't blame any fighter that seeks to gain an advantage by demanding a catchweight. There is no blame there, there is no hard feelings. Sanctioning bodies should decide but their too much of a ****ing ***** to do so. Please pay us, ohhh please pay us. That's all they care about. ******s.
No way for 155. Not for a guy who's as big as you are and sucks himself down to have an advantage... For a small guy like Floyd then sure, he'd have to make 154..
I say 157 is fair...if he wants the big fight and $ that comes with it then he has to sacrifice a little bit....
Canelo's agreeing to fight at 160, so weights not the issue. Instead there should be a poll asking whether or not Golovkin should accept less money than Khan (for a fight that'll do much bigger).
Good point.
Canelo saves face, while putting up a new roadblock.

If he means getting the fight done meet in the middle .
For once, I agree with this guy!

Although, you do seem to feel differently about GGG-Ward for some reason. Even though the circumstances.. eh. blah. you know.
Why is this a topic anymore? Canelo said he'd fight Golovkin at 160!
Asked about the weight for a GGG fight Canelo said, and I quote: 'I'll fight him at 160.' #CaneloKhan #boxing— Dan Rafael (@danrafaelespn) May 8, 2016
Stand firm, and see Canelo stripped. The situation with that particular belt is beyond a joke now. Martin Murray was the last guy to be allowed to fight for it while weighing the full 160. That was 3 years ago.
he should stay firm, if canelo vacates it was humiliating for canelo and thats worth more then any amount of money
even if canelo was to go undeafeated for the rest of career he'll always hear about vacating against GGG
Hes gonna have to bend over. Dude doesnt have the resume or the numbers to start making demands. He needs a name on his resume so he has something to negotiate for future fights.
Canelo's fight is not his last. Cutting muscles will weaken him and eventually cut his career short. Not a wise move. Maybe 158-159, if he is confident that it will not compromize him. But 157 - I already don't like. Besides - how many times are they gonna rape that lineal title? It should be contested at the proper weight limit to be considered legit.
I voted Drain Himself and this is why; GGG was all for 154 to fight Mayweather right? Why not Nelo at 155 then? Well, now that he has a real puncher in front of him, he isn't willing to drop the weight. That is because he knows that Canelo can KTFO anyone and he needs to be at 100% and not give Nelo any advantage. In other words, GGG is not taking Canelo lightly. I pick Canelo by KO. GGGs style is perfect for Nelo, he comes forward and will walk right into a warhead nelo punch that will K him :boxing:TFO

It's not a voluntary fight.
It's a mandatory middleweight title defense.
There are no "offers" for ODLH to make. There's no 90-10 purse split. There's no catchweight.
If they want to play all those f@ggot games, they can drop the belt and do something else
