Personally I would like to see him brought up a little more slowly. There's just a little too much euphoria, let him get tested slowly. That said, I really like this kid.
Spence joined the contenders so not ready for a "belt" fight but maybe a Ghost, Berto/Ortiz, Peterson, winner of Provo/Moilina if they willing or Varas. Iknow about Vargas :boxing::boxing:g
Spence is an exciting prospect but he can still use some seasoning against mid-level guys. Also Spence is somewhat of a key cog in the PBC machine as such he needs to be built up properly, so him smashing on mid-level guys does wonders for his q-rating considering he is the sort of guy that will win in exciting fashion.
PBC has a lot of guys who are perfect for the task and I would expect him to fight 2 or 3 from that list before moving up to the next tier. By then fighting Spence would actually mean something and be a big fight for the higher end guys which is real sink or swim time for Spence.
Well I'd like to see him vs the bigger PBC names in the division (Thurman, Porter, Danny, Broner, Brook (kind of PBC)) because personally I think he's already ready for them.
But I think it's more realistic that he fights one of the guys you listed, which is still a good step for his career. Those guys would all be good names for his resume and a good in-between step before he fights one of the guys I listed. If he does fight one of the guys you listed nobody should have a problem with it considering last Saturday was his first fight with any kind of 'name' opponent at all...fighters don't get the big fights overnight, they have to work their way up to them. Even though I, like many other fans, think he's already ready, he will have to prove it before he gets his chance.
I agree..he may be ready..but fighters still need to pass certain tests
Whats the next step after Algeri?? Id honestly like to see him against fighters like the winner of Ortiz-Berto or maybe Guerrero

I'd love to see him in there with Garcia. Obviously would also love Brook, Bradley, Thurman, or Porter. Last night was a statement win. He doesn't need a Peterson, Alexander, Paulie or Guerrero fight. He proved he's already a level above those guy. Put him in with the top dogs.
yes, it will be very interesting to see how spence do with tim...
You've got to be kidding me. Not a single one of you mentioned Broner. Personally, I've love to see Spence take out AB before he gets his crack at Brook.
you are right id love to see it
Any of the top band of WW's would be great. Barring that someone like Chavez, Guerrero would be fine. Because he's a big puncher I wouldnt mind seeing him fight Broner... for sadistic reasons...

Id like to see him in with anyone that can punch. Berto, Ortiz and D. Chavez would be good. We already seen what Spence will do to a guy that he doesnt respect (power-wise) so Guerrero isn't a guy Id want to see him fight. I think Spence looked sensational on Saturday but I like to see a fighter take on a couple different styles before deeming him the new king of a division.
I'd be surprised if we he had a bigger fight than the Porter-Thurman loser this year.
Would be great if we saw him in with Garcia or the Porter-Thurman winner this year but I can't see that happening.
I want to see Brook but I believe Brook has two voluntaries before he has to fight his mandatory which is Spence.
So between now and then Berto-Ortiz winner, Chavez, Soto Karrass, Guererro, someone like that.
I agree with this. Brook vs. Spence will be late 2017 at the earliest. So he will probably have 3-4 fights before he gets to that point. Maybe in this order:
Berto/Ortiz winner this summer
Diego Chaves at the end of this year
Lamont Peterson early next year
Kell Brook at the end of next year

The ****? That's a massive step back. Berto is a journeyman now and a shot one at that and ortiz is a mental midget. Guerrero was never any good at 147 anyway.
It should be v Thurman/Porter/Brook/Garcia.
I dunno what spences contract with haymon is like but if its fluid like that of khan, im sure he could get in the ring with bradley or vargas.
Too many pu$$ies in Haymon's stable. These entitled fighters are all going to think they are too big a name for him. I'm expecting worse than Guerrero honestly. Like Aaron Martinez or Josesito Lopez.
