I was just reading a mexican boxing facebook page, and got to a pic of Canelo that they posted few day ago, with these statements from Canelo:
Who has GGG fought for me to be scared of him?
And the more voted responses from mexican fans were:
If he's not scared, then why isn't he fighting him? GGG is waiting for him with gloves on since he knocked Lemieux out, but Canelo is still avoiding the fight.
I've always supported you Canelo, but I see that you are flying pretty high. Honestly you haven't fought anyone that good either. Golovkin at least is trying to fight the best fighters at his division. He's not fighting unranked, inactive old men like you. And he's not bringing up guys from lower divisions. And he's not using weight advantages. If you are not scared of him, go and fight him. I hope both fight, and GGG wins by KO or TKO so you can humble yourself.
Where is the fighter that said he'd fight GGG at the end of the Cotto fight? this guy is a shame
Lemieux KO's Canelo... I bet anything. It's a shame that Oscar won't put both in the ring
There are many many more responses in the same way. All against Canelo. There are very few if any response, backing up Canelo's.
It seems like the Mexican boxing fans are not buying the "A-side" bull shiet that some US fans want us to believe. Thankfully.
1) I don't think it's healthy.
2) I don't know or care how long he'll do it.
You're mistaking me for a fanboy/apologist. I don't do that. I care about the facts. Right now, he's making 154.5 and there is no logical reason he can't lose a mere 1/2lb additional. Golovkin fans are selling the "can't make 154" idea HARD because it creates an argument in their GG/canelo war. That's bias and I don't play that.
Personally, I think extreme weight cuts are foolish in the long-term and guys that do it eventually have a bad cut resulting in a horrible fight/loss of championship (happens a lot in MMA). So, you won't get an argument from me about it being a good idea. Canelo is playing a dangerous game.
I agree with your post and i am a fan of Golovkin. I don't think there's anything wrong with that but my argument has to do with Golovkin because Canelo is blatently sitting at 155 because he either 1) doesn't want to move up to his natural weight of 160 in fear of being pressured to fight Golovkin or 2) is trying to use the "155 weight class" as an advantage against Golovkin should he accept the catchweight. Either way he's a fraud.
Yeah. The "A-Side" bull shiet is only on these forums. Used by some stupid fanboys that hate ggg.
Yes you play bias. He CAN make 154, but not without losing a few muscle pounds. He would be 172 at fight night like he used to be when he weigheid in at 154. Now he is 175 at least. Understand that? Alvarez don't want any of that muscle loss.
YOU ARE BIASED AS ****. What's your position on the whole Canelo-GGG situation?
You'll cry when you find out. Go read your other thread and see. I know you're desperate to get one up on me but you don't have the capacity and truthfully it's boring me. Let's just be friends. :beerchug:
I got plenty of mexcan friends and they are all disappointed in canelo and who can blame them canelo is disgracing the boxing legacy of mexico and the middleweight title.

His walk around weight is 190+. Explain to me how that is healthy for a fighter and how long do you really think he'll be able to make 155.

Where did you pull this number from?

I don't see how any marginally intelligent person can think he won't make 154 even though he consistently makes 155. Is this a remedial mathematics failure or just foolish ggg fanboyism?
Edit; I see he weighed in at 154.5 last year so either stupidity or shameless lying that has produced this "he can't lose an extra 1/2lb" nonsense.

Read the other quote I was responding to in that post. Holy hell you are dense...
And, just to school you again, the extra 2lbs from your equation would equal to an extra .5lbs, or 1.75lbs total. The math is not in your favor, nor is the truth. I can't waste any more time educating maxi today so you can finish this argument by yourself.
I'm 50% engineer and competed in Math tournaments so I can say that Maths are my thing much more than they are yours.
No, he didn't lose 5lbs for Mayweather. He lost 7lbs. 172 minus 165 equals 7.
In order to make sure he can make 154 again, he would have to lose some muscle mass. If that wasn't the case, then why the **** he fought at 154 like three years ago last time?
When he fought at 154 he weighed 172. Now he is on 155 and weighing in 175+
YOU DO THE MATH. I don't care if you say you work on nutrition and shiet, what you say doesn't make sense at all, just as usual. You've been exposed. FACTS show that canelo CAN'T make 154 without losing muscle.

Canelo's game plan was to come in light against Mayweather you dumb f**k. He didn't weight 165 because he couldn't rehydrate 7 pounds of muscle weight as you say. His plan was to go into the ring light and try to outbox Mayweather.
Source? or it's just your imagination?
Aren't you PR-CUBAN? You're still bitter 'cause he beat Lara & Joto. LOL. Son, pipe it down, homie. Or else I'm gonna send your sister to beat your ass again.:boxing:
Son, you're a white dude acting Mexican.
Shhh, be quiet.
A dude from Mexico City already said Canelos a joke :lol1:
This is why mexico will always be a third world ****hole. they dont support their own people and as soon as one of them starts getting success, they try to drag him down
most mexican Canelo haters dont give two ****s about the MW belt or cws, or GGG, who isn't exactly fighting HOFers all the time precissely. most of them are casuals who DKSAB and just come out of the woodwork to bash ginger
they hate ginger because he's young, succesful and handsome. it pisses them off that he looks like an euro movie star instead of a fugly indio like JMM and didn't have to wait until 40yo to become a star
they're full of **** and spout nonsense, ¨ Trout got robbed, Angulo was paid to take a dive, Cotto beat him clearly, Lara schooled him, (insert random chump) would beat him etc etc¨
them be jelly and salty as ****
Dude Mexico is a country of 120 million people.
There are always going to be a few idiots, haters, etc.
The views on one FB page don't represent how the country as a whole feel about him.
Dude draws as many eye balls to his fights as a Soap Opera there.
Can't be because they all hate the guy.
Yes they are, I translated them.
They don't buy the A-side bull shiet and that's great. He will get Chavez jr treatment soon if he keeps like this.
I feel Canelo must beat Malinaggi to be considered an ATG!!!

this! this! this!
Junk science. You're looking up reported fight night weights and calculating his retained mass based on that? FFS man. As someone with a professional background in nutrition (5 years in diet management), I'll just let you know that he is not losing 4lbs of muscle mass to cut 8oz of water. You can reject knowledge of you choose (you choose to often) but it only makes you look the fool.
AGAIN, it's one half of a pound. Stop comparing it to 152, which would be 5x as much as what we're talking about here. By your junk calculations, if he lost 5lbs in muscle for Mayweather, he would lose 1lb to make 154. Guys, this forum is available for public viewing, stop making boxing fans look like drooling idiots.
