Prime Brandon Rios vs pre-Robert Garcia Marcos Maidana - Who would win?

I think it goes 12 rounds but eventually Maidana wins. Pre-Robert Garcia Maidana wasn't a total punchingbag. He was smart enough to know what works and what doesn't. He wasn't the type of fighter to keep doing something that wasn't working and if he found out he could hit you with a certain punch, he'd keep throwing it until he got you out of there. Meanwhile Rios just kind of throws anything to hit you even if he leaves himself open or misses. Also, Maidana's will to win back in the day was better than almost anyone in the sport. Good point. You could see his desire in the Amir Khan fight and other fights too.

Thats the like the one they were working with each other, theirs another sparring session they speak about that ellie is not allowed to upload. Team garcia speaks about it from time to time in one of those pow wows they have with ellie in his videos. If you listen to the interviews Rios sparred Maidana after Chino already boxed and was tired. Rios said he saw Maidana looking good so he decided to jump in there with him. Rios was fresh.

This would probably be something like Maidana/Ortiz. I'd pick Maidana to win.

Rios can take a punch though. Only so much one can take plus how many punchers has he fought? Only arguably Alvarado

More reckless but less effective vs slick fighters however Rios is not that. Rios started at 135, Chino stops him late. Rios can take a punch though.

Prime Rios, Their video on ESNEWS where Robert Garcia and Rios and talked about their all out sparring and that Rios put it on Maidana bad. People think of maidana as a brawler and he was but he still needed distance for his shot to have the intended pop, Rios gets in your chest and took that away from Maidana.
