What's happening? Is the well really running dry?
Wade mandatory for Golovkin... supposedly, he could easily win the purse bid and force GGG off HBO and get a free belt against somebody else if vacated.... but he strikes a deal.
McJoe Arroyo is one of Haymon's fighters and yet, he lost a purse bid for a measly 25k to Manny Pacquiao's promotional company..... Manny Pacquiao just beat out Al Haymon in an purse bid with pocket change.
Where's the same Haymon that bid 3+million dollars on Degale/Dirrell... I mean, that's such an important fight that's worth 3+million in the states right?
I guess they really are losing money and cutting back, winning a GGG/Wade purse bid and Arroyo/MP guy purse bid should cost less than the 3.5 million dollars Haymon gave for the mega fight between Dirrell and Degale
Cash is running out. W&R are getting quite pissed already. Ratings for PBC are atrocious, Haymon fighters barely have any fans. Even Wilder's ratings plummeted. Quillin vs Jacobs was just terrible rating wise. They were pumping out cash to try to run the competition out of the sport but it didn't happen. Golden Boy has recovered, Top Rank is still going strong. HBO has the best fighters. PBC fighters only attract a very specific minority. They don't have any P4P stars or fan favorite fighters.
Wilder definitely the best out of the bunch IMO.
I've heard his name brought up numerous times from casual people I know, asking me if I saw the fight... so they have something there.
PBC have something in Wilder... they really. If he beats Povetkin, he could gain some serious traction...

I realize the point of your post is that Haymon is running out of money or whatever, but in the case of the Golovkin purse bid, it's kind of irrelevant. Haymon had GGG by the balls. Haymon could have bid an extravagant amount money he didn't even have, and he still would have been able to force GGG to vacate because of his HBO contract. Haymon doesn't have to pay unless the the fighter accepts, which GGG wouldn't be able to do.
In the case, of McJoe Arroyo, why would he bid the same $3M that he did for Degale/Dirrell? The Arroyo fight is worthless, so he bid appropriately. If it was something like Stevenson/Kovalev, it would probably be different.
They likely are running out of money, but I don't think these two purse bids mean much.
So Haymon was just nice enough to no force a GGG vacate even though he has him by the balls? The next in line is Murata who Arum would definitely make...and Murata is just as trash as Wade, if not more... a very winnable fight and winnable belt. Now he's going to get the ass beating of his life
Also he doesn't need to bid 3M on Arroyo, he was going against Manny Pacquiao promotions who primarily operate out of the PI.... the last bid was won by GBP by the exact same amount... he couldn't even put some money up?
Using money appropriately isn't something Haymon really does purse wise, now his fighter is getting about 20k and going to hostile territory.
I guess they don't mean much if you aren't really looking out for your fighter
Yes, out of all the people in the MW division... Wade is the bravest of them all.
And McJoe Arroyo? He's just brave to go to the PI and defend there? Or Haymon didn't have 25.1k to spend?

Your sig lmfao
What's funny is that Barrera will be getting more money than the 300k everybody said he should take.
He ain't getting paid off us though
That makes no sense. Povetkin's promoter has more money than PBC. If he wanted the fight made on his terms all he would have to do is petition the WBC for an expedited purse bid. But instead he's negotiating with Haymon/DiBella.
It actually makes a lot of sense. If it went to purse bids Rabiensky would win that easy but the splits are 70-30 wilders way, which doesnt really help povetkin much.
Povetkin wants the deal because he knows wilder will give him more money just to avoid going to russia
This isnt rocket science boys. There isnt enough money to plug up the hole. Of course nobody's going to want their money going away anymore. The well is running dry. Theres nothing planned ahead like it was 2015. Looks like it would be a miracle if PBC sees their one year anniversary...

There's only been one fight that went to purse bid and he won. And that wasn't to long ago, it was in December You ever think Haymon isn't as hard to deal with as some people want you to believe? Khan vs. Canelo was made. Wade vs. GGG was made. Hell, he even helped get Quigg vs. Frampton made. That's a fight Hearn had been trying to get made for a while. And Povetkin's promoter just said he thinks the fight will be made without going to purse bid.
That's not the only time. He beat TR to Loma Russell for like 25k more
Wade and Arroyo are meaningless in the grand scheme of things. If it was Wilder-Poventkin purse bid, I'm sure he'll be willing to pay a good amount of money to win.
Don't forget Wilder vs Stiverne avoided a purse bid
don King was ready to take anything IMO.
Honestly... don't remember many purse bids with Haymon and his promoters.
Off the top of my head, the Degale/Dirrell is the only one I remember because it was just so absurd
Don't know why he wasn't willing to put some cash down for Arroyo since he wanted it in the now dead triple header. Now one of his champs is going abroad

He also is not even signing fighters. Look at last year or 2 every top young fighter he over bid to sign them. Yet last few months it just golden boy and top rank signing all the top young amateurs who are going pro. Last year golden and top rank had no chance getting into a bidding war for fighters because he offered higher signing bonuses.
Of course money is running out he can't even afford to pay for PBC events even though he already paid for the air time on networks. This month had the fewest PBC events since it's debut. There are no official PBC events scheduled for March as of today. So if he can't even pay for his fighters and reports they are cutting costs and that he might release some fighters as part of cutting costs you think he can just blow people away with purse bids anymore?

Because they know they're going to lose that purse bid to a guy who bid 20+ million for Wlad.
They're probably conceding everything Povetkin wants except location
Because Wade isn't a coward that actually wants to fight Golovkin. Changes are he probably did flex his purse bid muscles in the negotiations, and got Wade a bigger purse than the standard 25%.
