Broner was never considered to have a granite chin.
And Maidana was underdog but he was supposed ot be Khan's step up fight, he was the most dangerous fight at 140, and he was supposed ot test Khan's chin, do more that test it.
Actually, Broner WAS known and is STILL known for having a granite chin. Nobody had been able to knock him down not even hurt him until he fought Maidana. Now that Maidana knocked him down and is still the only one to do it, all of a sudden his chin isn't good, right? Come on now, that's ridiculous. If not, then go get evidence that suggests otherwise. I'll wait.
It's a different fight to the Matthysse fight as Chino isn't going to box Danny. He will take what's available and let his hands go. Stylistically that's not such a bad thing for Danny, but if Maidana was effective on the inside then it could change things. Danny looked very physically strong on the inside against Guerrero, but I think Chino is more of a handful. It's a difficult fight to call. Danny's ability to win the quiet rounds would be a challenge for Chino. Could see it going 7-5 either way.
And you're forgetting Maidana has dropped guys who have never gone down in their careers. Broner is considered to have a granite chin and even Porter couldn't hurt him. It didn't stop Maidana from knocking him down. Karass also has an iron chin and only Maidana and Thurman have truly knocked him down. Danny would be no different. Danny definitely has a chance to win, but Maidana's experience and I honestly believe he's a better boxer than Garcia. Even Floyd was having trouble outboxing Maidana in the rematch and Maidana was counterpunching with Floyd, not trying to maul him like in the 1st fight.
You're also forgetting Maidana has improved. You said they have both struggled in the past against guys they were supposed to beat and that's true, but Maidana has come a long way where as Danny hasn't been looking any better. I think Maidana would take it, once Danny feels the power it would be a repeat of Broner all over again. Funny thing is that I think Broner would probably beat Danny lol. Robert Guerrero is a gatekeeper and Danny should have obliterated him at this point in Guerrero's career.

Danny wins. Danny always seems to fight to the level of his opponent. If that Maidana fought him, I believe Danny would step the pace up earlier than he did in the Ghost fight.
Danny would outbox him and would be able to take his power. Maidana would make it very ugly and win 3-4 rounds but I believe danny would work the body well and jab that would keep Maidana off him late.
Remember, Maidana CAN get dropped. He was dropped several times by Ortiz, I think 3 times. Dropped by Khan to the body. Hurt pretty good vs Josesito before making a comeback. And stunned by Morales. To be fair, 2010 was the last time Maidana went down. He went on for 5 years without visiting the canvas. But just saying, before predicting a TKO for a fighter who's been down himself, over a fighter with a proven chin who has never been down, think about it.
Margarito-Cotto I was easy to predict a TKO upset for Marg because of Cotto's past tendencies of getting dropped. But then people predicted Margarito by TKO over Mosley, who had one of the best chins in boxing in the last 10 years prior. I tried telling people, Mosley will win and will not get hurt. Margarito is the one who's been hurt and dropped in the past. Mosley destroyed Margarito with ease. Garcia has never been dropped, can take a punch, and can drop you. Maidana can get dropped and get wild and can get caught with those hooks from Garcia.

They both struggled against guys fans thought they would steamroll. They both beat favorites.
Both struggled vs Morales. Maidana struggled against Corley, Garcia struggled against Herrera, Guerrero. Maidana struggled against Lopez. Maidana, if you guys forgot already, was supposed to TKO Khan. It was Khan's first step up since Prescott. Before that, Khan was being fed featherfists and old fighters. Khan beat Maidana, Garcia KO'ed Khan, when the predictions were the other way around, Khan was supposed to beat Garcia. Broner was supposed to beat Maidana, got humiliated by him instead. Matthysse was supposed TKO^ Garcia, got dropped and beaten instead. Maidana upset Ortiz as well.
It's a 55-45 fight leaning towards DSG.
Maidana was an underdog against Khan what are you saying lol
I voted Maidana wins by KO. Guerrero was able to back Garcia up but Garcia usually landed more and better punches. Maidana is so much stronger and so much harder puncher than Guerrero that he would just walk right through Garcia's offense and beat him down. Garcia has an iron jaw and has never been down. I think Maidana would keep pounding on him with his two fisted sledge hammers until he cracked Garcia's good chin and knocked him out. Garcia would put up a decent fight but he doesn't have the firepower to hold off Maidana.

Danny Garcia
Who wins between the Chino that beat Broner/pushed Floyd and the Danny we just watched beat Guerrero?
It'd be a hell of a fight, but Danny Garcia pulls away late (boxing off of the back foot, solid ability to use the ring to keep space, comfortably hammers the body whenever open, heavy enough hands to punish Maidana whenever he gets over aggressive, etc)
8-4/9-3 Garcia.
Maidana by KO, that Maidana was so good that he could've been one of Floyd's best scalps on his resume if he didn't retire.
Here's why, that Maidana was a mechanic; a worker that doesn't stop and he punches with bricks in his hands. He also has been improved to using a good jab and displays better defense than he ever has. I mean could you have believed if I told you Maidana "countered" Floyd Mayweather? !
He would've been the top guy at welter with only Bradley and maybe Brook as his toughest fights.
Danny's power didn't come with him at 147 and he has shown better head movements and foot movement but Marcos was one of the best at cutting off the ring. Danny would have to catch Maidana with a punch he doesn't see coming otherwise Marcos grinds him down to knock him out in the 11th.

I think if Guerrero was able to land the right hand and break through Danny's defense, then Maidana would break through it like butter. Maidana ranked among the most accurate welterweights when it came to power punches landed after he fought Broner.
