Which HW fighter has the best physique?
It is irrelevant to overall performance often and a high muscle mass can lead to premature fatigue in later rounds.
I always liked the way Tyson looked or Joe Frazier.
Now we have guys like Wilder - looks like he is on stilts
Joshua - looks like he has some great genes / juice
Fury - looks like an shaved Orangutan (but highly effective)
As I said AJ has the best physique out of all HW... not even close.
NextGen boxer!

It's literally not biologically possible to be that ripped at 6'6" 240+ lbs "naturally". You need a reality check. Even Wlad's physique highly suspicious. Joshua is just making a mockery of drug testing.
You can only work out a muscle group a few times per week before you overwork it and it starts losing rather than gaining mass. There is a "ripped-ness" roof.
Studies have shown guys who just go through a normal day (no lifting) while on PEDs actually gain muscle faster than people who lift weights without taking anything because they don't hit that biological ceiling. In other words there's no way to get there without chemicals. "Natural" bodybuilders just compete when they aren't on cycles.
"Genetics" -- popular bro science but test/est/etc levels do not vary nearly enough to account for the drastic gains some guys see and others don't. Genetics will give you a single-digit % advantage, it won't make you look like an upright lobster and have pouches of 100% lean muscle just hanging uselessly everywhere.
Half the guys on my high school football team were taking steroids and some of you still deny pro athletes who look like the incredible hulk would do such a thing. Get with the program here b1tch.
Of course man. But they are mostly Floyd fans on denial.
The best "no he's clean!" denial was Alistair Overeem. Especialy since Sherdog had a policy where they immediately ban anyone who accused a fighter of taking steroids. He went from being a beanpole with girl arms to being bigger than Joshua in a year or two.
Of course botched his PED schedule and accidentally tested positive after 2,000 people were banned for pointing out the obvious.
Erm it is possible to be shredded without taking steroids..... some of you guys sound pathetic.

None of the above for me!
Ali at 6' 3-4" 210-220lbs with long lean muscle void of peaks that need blood and steal oxygen from the system is the best body for boxing. He was very
prepotionate with outstanding facial features that never seemed to show signs of swelling or abrasions.
Wasn't heavy in his legs or back or chest and displayed the most coordination of any heavy then and now. The fastest 200+ heavyweight to date both hands & feet and no one has better stamina for the 15 rounds than he did, no one.
Perfect heavyweight boxer physique. All the right ingrediants.
Oh yeah best chin too, never been KO'd either.

Anthony Joshua has the most aesthetic physique for a HW boxer.
Wladimir Klitschko and Mike Tyson both split the prize for the most functional "CHAMPIONSHIP" physique of a boxer based on their comparitive duality. One represents the pinnacle of the outfighter whereas one represents the pinnacle of the infighter (no garbage about the definiton of an "infighter", Tyson closed the distance, Wlad strove to maintain it).. Each can beat the other depending on circumstances.
The most interesting story however is this...
The best physique possible for the AVERAGE boxer throughout history.
When you think about it, THIS is the most realistic and useful measure.
It turns out that the best physique for the average boxer in this age is about 6'3", with a degree of athleticism and muscles but also somewhat CHUBBY!
Going by pure success rates over all boxers, the top 10 boxers in practically all HW eras were mostly from slightly through somewhat to even grossly chubby!
And anybody who is down with the facts knows why.
NOTE: The above category is mentioned "throughout history". This negates it's actual application height to modern boxing (and concominant weight also), because of the dramatic size increase in modern HW boxing. The fact that being chubby was effective still holds true!

You sound day dude.
Joshua has the best physique. He's built like a WWE wrestler.
Wlad and Wilder are right behind, even though they both look like they skip leg day a little too often.
The argument is that the bigger the muscles the more oxygen they need is a fair one. But it still relies on the heart as a pump and red blood production.
I bet Joshua's heart at rest is slow and powerful. That thing is probably literally bigger than a guy like Tyson's who visually at least you would think is better suited for an endurance sport out of the two. But Boxing is largely anaerobic, no?
Tough one. Not sure big muscles necessarily equate to crap stamina.

"Look he has so many muscles.... ROIDS ROIDS ROIDS" :bottle: :bottle:
Wlad had a great physique/body. He used to have amazing upper body, but his legs are skinny. Same with Wilder. Their legs are bit skinny.
While Anthony Joshua is perfect speciman. All his body are equally well developed.
Joshua right now but ever I would say Primo Carnera. Dude was a freak of nature. Joshua has good muscle bellies but small bones that give him that skinny bodybuilder look that many black athletes have. Primo Carnera had a huge frame and was muscular af.
Wlad and Joshua by miles in the current division.
Historically, younger ,in shape Ali and Tyson were probably the best, in shape heavies. Possibly Evander too.
