Catchweight aside... isn't this most anticipated fight in quite some time?!?!

Catchweight is not an issue, it should not be brought up at all. Neither of them need the full 160lbs. It shouldn't be but people already saying Canelo will be weight drained. And stating Cotto should get no credit if he wins. Mind you its Canelo's exclusive weight.

Canelo needs to lose 5.2 lbs in one week he'll arrive a zombie to the weigh in you're dumb idiot.

Talking about Cotto-Canelo, of course. I'll be watching it at my brother-in-law's house, who's sure to have a pretty big crowd of family and friends over for the event. Less than a week to go, and the atmosphere is already electric. Nobody really knows for sure who's really going to win. But one thing is for certain..... it's gonna be one HELLUVA fight. Action/quality-wise, it'll definitely be light-years better than Floyd-Pac. And I know some are looking forward more to Wlad-Fury (I'm looking forward to that one also). But with Wlad, you never know what you're gonna get. If they both come to fight, great. But it could always be a stinker of a fight, a la Haye, Povetkin, or Sultan. Whereas as we're pretty guaranteed that this fight will be great. War Cotto!!!!!!!!!! This fight don't guarantee nothing. .Canelo is a one dimensional fighter. .Cotto will be using the ring since Canelo can't cut the ring off. .uses in n out movement. .lateral movement. .go to the body a lot. .Canelo has no boxing skill advantage over Cotto. .his advantage are weight and maybe power too..only way Canelo wins is if he hurts Cotto or by robbery. .imo Cotto by UD and probably makes Canelo take a need ones with a body shot...I'm more excited about watching Rigo. .and the Fury vs Wlad

While I am excited, odh's rant and subsequent info (tweets) suggests that the fight isn't as highly anticipated outside of diehards. NSB has spent most of the last few days focused on rousey getting ktfo. I expect it to pick up. In NJ, I've only seen one commercial for the fight.

It's big alright. I can't spend much time thinking about other fights with this fight on my mind so much. It's getting close and I am counting the days. I am a big Canelo fan and a clear win over Cotto would be a great win for him. Cotto is very dangerous so of course I am worried about Cotto winning the fight. Which ever boxer you are for or if you are neutral it promises to be a great fight. Both men are very well skilled and either top 10 pound for pound or close to it. They are both fast boxer-punchers who come to fight. They both hit very hard and are good finishers with the killer instinct. It could go the full 12 rounds but I really expect both men to be trying for a knock out and I think one of them will get the KO.

I don't remember off the top of my head when the last time was that I've been this excited for a fight. True pick em fight IMO. I can see roads to victory for both men, and in a variety of ways. I just hope it goes some rounds. :boxing:

Only those who've never seen Floyd fight. No everyone was saying it. "Fight of the Century" Im hoping its a firefight and lives up to the billing but in no way am i going to say its a guarantee.

Absolutely this fight gets a pass as does Ward Vs GGG If Ward would have been man enough to take that 164lbs offer but people call it like they want to. Cotto vs Canelo is finally happening and this is great, Canelo made this fight happen all the way and deep down I think neither Ward or GGG really, really wanted to make that fight happen If Ward wanted it so badly he'd have said okay 50/50 and I'll go to 164, or he'd have offered to make 160 since he seems so desperate to fight this guy. Same said for GGG he'd have offered the same terms that Chavez and Froch would have got but he didn't he offered 164, could have been worse I guess. Back to topic, Canelo ftw, Nelo the ginger kid gonna smoke Cotto out.

I started out excited about it and wanting Canelo to win but as both fighters have made it pretty clear nothing comes after this and they don't want to unify, I'll prob just stream it in the background or check the highlights.

I'm sure f*cking excited. It's going to be a tremendous fight. It's not Mayweather/Pacquiao, but very little is.
