On the undercard of Povetkin vs Wach
Also Chakhiev was stopped by Afolabi,
Thoughts??? Seemed like a good card of boxing with good competitive matchups, didn't see much about the card being discussed on these forums.
:boxing::boxing:
Yeah someones a bit of a cunt though so I doubt they will do it :)
haha no worries, i just so the dmitry KO, I'll find the Chak one too pfff
Btw, off topic but the cruisers have been consistently dishing up good KOs and good fights for the last 3-4 years, with guys like Huck, Ola, G Jones and so on. I just wish Huck had spent longer at heavyweight.
damn, does that mean I have to scroll all the way back...would be better if someone posted it again...ahem
I'm not trying to create rivalries plus rivalries are good anyway.
All I'm saying is, a lot of east european guys on here were promoting these two, it's not unique to e ast european fans but I was just highlighting a point.
Chakhiev was only "promoted" by dan_cov. Dmitry Kudryashov on the other hand tho, different story.

Ok fair enough I just don't think it needed to be quantified with European, your point was valid enough already.
Someone posted it earlier in the thread mate.
Well worth a watch for the KO alone.
Chakhiev was spark out

I can't stand this European this or American that talk. Fighters are protected as investments everywhere. It's so weird to create some kind of rivalry or suggestion of difference that doesn't actually exist.

Really wanted to see Chak v Ola, good fight and I'm not surprised by the result. I need to watch it, what was the stoppage like? Ola is a very good CW, people forget that and Chak, with all the tools he has, is nothing more than a c level guy in the division. Dmitry was another one of those european guys who could punch but was never truly tested. I only heard of him through all the east european posters on here and after some youtube research, I just wasn't convinced.
Hope both bounce back though as there's good depth in the division atm and I wana see how things shape up with Huck and Glow and Ola once again in the title picture.

The Russians are really putting on some quality boxing cards. The cards are stacked with good fighters and competitive matches and top notch production values.
Anyway, good fight between Kudryashov and Durodola. Durodola's constant pressure and crisp combinations were the key to getting the TKO.

all of the the blue eyed "safe european home" crowd seemed to think this kid was the goods.
in reality, dude had defense like a siv and only had power in one hand.
super exciting fight, doe. like an oldHW fight from the 70's. whne guy sof that size go all out, the fights are short. those two went all out. short, exciting fight.
Always liked Afolabi, good on him.
Edit: just watched the fight. Chakhiev is f*cking clueless. Theres more to boxing than just winging in a million full force punches each round. Great ko and composure from Ola.
it didn't take nostradamus to see that coming. he could still be involved in some fun shoot-outs down the line but he'll never get close to a world title
There is some irony there.
Anyway, If you'd backed all the upset winners with conviction you'd have made a healthy profit
