Since it seems that many of the GGG critics wants to all of a sudden take Rick Glaser's word as gospel on the PPV buy count, I'll use him as a reference.
According to Rick Glaser, Floyd/Berto did 389k buys and GGG/Lemeiux did 97k buys.
So was Floyd's farewell bout ppv buys more disapointing or was GGG's first ppv fight more disappointing.
Vote and discuss....
Oh please..............
Your initial post lacked so much context it was unreal. :haha:
sure, the Pac number of 4,500,000 is a one-off, but even eliminating that the trajectory is still downward, probably 50-60% of Maidana, etc......
I have no agenda. Neither Floyd nor GGG are breaking me off any $$$.
What I dont understand is how people somehow gain some satisfaction by whether or not a PPV makes money for the principals. I never understood the idea of counting another mans money.......

Talk about leaving out context to suit your agenda.............:haha:

1 guy went from zero to 100
the other guy went from 4,500,000 to 389k
which trajectory do you think is worse?

Don't know, you tell me. Doesn't change the fact that Cotto did 60k.
Difference or not, the number is still 60K. You're laughing at 30K more. Especialy as soon as someone mentions a boxer you like, you start changing it up. Cotto is not the mega star you people think he is.
my response:
Difference or not??? smh there is a MAJOR difference in how the ppv is promoted especially when backed by a major network like HBO and available in closed circuit tvs.
GGG had not even 100k buys with a HBO backed ppv. Cotto vs Judah, a HBO backed ppv, not a closed circuit tv ppv, hit 225k buys.
Your response:

I always ask this one question!
If GGG was American, would he have more support?
Fk yeah times 10!
If Rigondeaux was American would he have more support?
Fk yeah times 5!
If that's the case how many PPVs did Golovkin vs. Ishida do?
Don't know, you tell me. Doesn't change the fact that Cotto did 60k.
