Time frame for Kovalev vs Ward? Location?

Well kovalev is the A side. If i was duva id stay away from california and barclays center in new york. Id request moscow to start negotiations. Knowing you end up in msg. 70/30 in favor of kovalev the champ. Ward has no room to dictate any terms. Ask for vada to do blood testing. Kovalev camps decides the cutoff. Fight on hbo. Kovalev doesn't sell tickets anywhere and that Moscow money was a hoax (September is almost over, Kovalev is supposed to be fighting in November, and yet there hasn't been any actual information about an actual person having interest in Kovalev, with Main Events seemingly going quiet on the matter). You add that HBO seems to be going out of their way to actually lock up Ward for this fight (understanding that Ward isn't going to take short money), and you're woefully overstating Kovalev's position in the negotiations, especially if Ward ends up co-featuring on the Cotto-Canelo PPV while Kovalev's next fight is carried on HBO in the afternoon.

I think it would be epic if Ward (Apollo Creed trunks and all) went to Russia to fight him there. Hell, you can even throw Roy "Comrade" Jones VS some bum on the undercard. Doubt it happens as Ward will hardly leave Oakland. This is just a mood killer, makes many of us believe ward won't fight him period. I'll be so happy if he even accepts the fight in his hometown.. as because I believe Kovalev is ALL wrong for Ward

Tune up #2 in November(maybe lol) then #3 in May(at the earliest)would be sometime around Nov-Dec 2016 before Kovalev vs Ward would be possible. Even then, if it's a 3 fight deal then Ward isn't going to fight Kov first. After the tune ups, and then 2 fights before Kovalev would make it Fall 2017 before we see Kovalev vs Ward. This is a perfect world scenario where Ward doesn't get injured in these tune ups/weight adjustment fights or training camp.

My guess is sometime in the last quarter of 2016, in Vegas.

Didn't the Mandaly Bay (where Kov fought over the summer) give Krusher some sort of deal where they were going to have him fight there again? I'd bet it happens there. There are probably places that would bring in more people, but it's hard to top casino money.

Oakland, CA would do the best attendance wise. Kovalev regularly fights in other fighters backyards since he cant draw himself

The only two venues that make sense are Oracle Arena(Oakland) and the new AEG Arena (Las Vegas);Vegas only being an option for the possibility of a sizable site fee. Ward has already put 10k people plus into Oracle Arena for his fights with Kessler/Dawson/Smith, Oracle Arena has the capacity to likely put 20k people into the building, and Kovalev can't sell a ticket anywhere (and I'm officially calling bull**** on that Russian backer story that Kathy Duva is trying to push). You simply follow where the money has manifested itself.

Ward is negotiating a three fight contract with HBO. I imagine a Kovalev fight will be a part of that deal. Also Duva has stated that Kovalev vs Ward is inevitable. Is this fight being targeted for early, mid or late 2016? Do you think this fight will happen in 2016? Where would this fight produce the biggest gate? Any where but Oakland but Kovalev in my opinion knocks Ward out

California. Ward's fans (the little he has) can load the statidum. Then fill the undercard with a Mexican fighter to attract more Mexican fans (who will probably cheer for Kovalev).

I would imagine economically Las Vegas provides the most incentive.
