Khan has always been a gutsy fighter who wanted to fight the best opponents available. The best opponent available is obviously Floyd, so that was the one Khan wanted above all others.
And I don't think he wanted Floyd for the money, but for the glory and legacy, because he truly believes he can beat Floyd.
The last 2/3 years of Khan's career have been, basically, him waiting for Floyd, and doing whatever Haymon advised him to do to maximise his chances of getting the fight..
Problem is though, that Floyd is his own man and does what he wants to do, not what Haymon would prefer him to do. Khan has realised that at last and what he now needs to do is forget about Floyd and make for the time he wasted waiting around for him.
It's time for Amir to show the guts, heart and fighting spirit he used to be known for. Fight Manny, if he can, and after that, win or lose, Kel Brook.
Even if he loses both those fights Khan will be able to hold his head up high once more. After he finishes counting the money he will earn for them, of course.
He never tried to force Mayweather into a fight. He's stupid and thought his name was enough. And if he can't get Floyd, then fight the next best available opponent.
Khan didn't do that because he didn't care about fighting the best, he cared about the exposure in fighting Floyd Mayweather. Haymon didn't make Khan fight disappointing opponents for 2 years. That's on Khan.
Well said-been reading your posts and you have Khan in - a - nutshell. Spot-on!!
Nobody can force Mayweather into a fight!
And I'm assuming that since he signed with Haymon, Khan has been following Al's advice, otherwise, what would be the point of paying him?
One problem has been that most of the top guys around Khan's weight are also Haymon fighters, and Al doesn't seem to like his top guys going against each other.
He's had plenty of opportunities to fight dangerous fighters, he only wants to fight the best i.e. May/Pac as financially it is the holy grail. You see we can't blame him for chasing the money but you have to earn those fights by beating the leading contenders. Go look at Tommy Hearns fights, he had a dodgy chin but fought the best. Khans' handlers are happy for him to cherry-pick and,it seems, Khan is happy to let them do it for him. He's 28yrs old you don't get to hide behind your handlers-take responsibility, fight the leading contenders and earn the mega fights.
Correction-he has been avoiding big hitters since the Prescott fight. He tried desperately to avoid Maidana, opting for Malinaggi until the WBA threatened to strip him, he then runs a mile from the lucrative rematch. There was even some legal issues whereby Khans team were trying to dispute Maidanas' Mandatory position. After this fight he once again went for light hitters McKlosky Peterson- Garcia was a late substitute for the Peterson rematch (I give him credit for taking that one) after Garcia.... you know the rest. Waste of a career!!
Khan deffo has recovery problems and Willie Lamond proved he has undeniable chin issues!
He has zero respect in the UK outside of his community because, as we all know, he avoids dangerous fighters. Hearns had chin issues but what does he do- steps up and takes on Hagler,Iran Barkley etc win or lose he got respect.
You can say his handlers are protecting him but surely at some point you have to take control and say 'put me in with a live opponent'. He is basically a dishonest hypocrite i.e cheating on his wife despite his faith, lying about sparring Ward-he is totally deluded, thick as a dam wall and needs to fight Brook!
I know that sounded witty in your head, and I hate to break it to you, but it isn't.
Sounds like you describing your attempt at an Amir Khan chin joke.
His problem is his low ring IQ.
Whenever he gets hurt, he tries to pay his opponent back instantly.
It's brave and good to watch, but he has to drop that habit for his own good. Hopefully, he has.
Bad chin is an issue, but it's manageable.
Khan has been a cherry picker ever since his KO lost to Garcia 3 years ago and he has avoided all dangerous punchers. He has only had 5 fights. Light punching Alexander was rated near the top 10 welterweights but the other 4 guys were not even close to being rated welterweights. Why would Mayweather have fought him. He had done little to earn the fight. Khan claims to be the best pound for pound fighter in the world and yet he struggles to beat Diaz and Algieri. Two guys Mayweather would easily beat even wearing a blindfold. Pacquiao is a 2016 fight that Khan can talk about but not actually go through with. Khan is supposed to fight late this year. After all his talk about coward Mayweather not manning up and fighting him it's past time for Khan to man up himself. If Khan's next opponent isn't Thurman, Porter, or Garcia then he is just a loud mouthed, bragging, cherry picking phony. Haymond manages all of those fighters so Khan can fight one of them if he wants to.

Spot on
I don't think he had a chin problem at all. The punches he took from Garcia after the initial knock down were quite shocking to me.
Exactly, he can take some punishment if he sees the punches coming (i.e. Maidana).
He has a defence and recovery problem for sure.
This is the truth, he leave his chin in the air and gets caught clean.

And u guys saying he doesn't have a chin problem. Pure delusional. Did u not see him get hurt vs Algieri? ****ing algieri!
Khan made Algieri look like Roberto Duran was walking him down.
It's a myth that Khan's "only" problem is his chin.
His chin is poor, yes, but he also has poor defense, no inside game, is predictable, leaves himself WIDE open when he punches, lunges, and doesn't look comfortable on the back foot.
