Glowacki was doing very well until Huck landed monstrous left hook to the temple, deadly punch... Glow legs was gone, it was very difficult for him to get up (he got up like between 7 and 8) and when referee said "nine" he stumbled back to the ropes. I thought: "Oh ****, he is ****ed the ref gonna stope the fight", but David Fields (huge props to him) gave undefeated fighter an opportunity to continue and we all know how the fight ended.
I hope all referees (especially British) take note of this fight.
Some people may say that David Fields could have stopped the fight and it would be ok, because Glowacki looked really wobbly at "nine", but I think the ref didnt stopped the fight because:
1. Ref knew Glow was winning the fight, so he wasnt some sacrificial lamb...
2. Krzysztof didnt take a lot of punishment, before that punch landed.
3. Glow was undefeated and there was no info about his chin and ability to recuperate.

In all honesty, I would not have complained if the fight was stopped in that round. There was no clear advantage for either guy, I personally had it 3-2 Glow going into the 6th. Huck, the hard hitting, experienced champ was finding his feet and Glow didn't take some of those hooks so well.
BUT, I never, ever believe in stopping a championship fight after the first KD unless the guy taking the KD has eaten a hell of a lot of punches. At this level, with a contender who has trained all his life for this moment, don't stop it. Give the guy a chance, let them catch their breath and their senses and who knows?
Edit: You're all going to hate me for this but I think the referee could have been a bit strong. On 4 separate occasions, both Huck and Glow continued fighting beyond the bell, Huck being the main perpetrator although Glow was guilty of coming up with his head and pushing back with his forearms. Both guys should have been deducted points imo.
Some refs don't take the time to really study a fighter after getting up late from a kd. He gave the Polish guy a chance to gather himself and check him out really well. Also the ref saw the fight was competitive and didn't just want to ruin the Polish chances to prove he can continue. Well done. I'm sure if Glowacki would have not thrown back after getting up then Reid would have called the fight, but Glowacki started to trade and was able to avoid any further hard shots.
I thought Glowacki should have been given the chance to continue but Huck looked really bad. Those last shots he took could have causednsome serious damage. At the the end of the day the ref did a good job in giving each fighter a chance to recover if the could.
Tbh though, the ref could've stepped in a little sooner in the 11th. Huck wasn't right when he got up, and I don't think he needed to be laid out through the ropes and then onto an ambulance.
Agreed. The last punch that nearly sent him out of the ring looked baad.
Huge props to Dave Fields, his refereeing was perfect throughout the fight and he made a great a call by letting Glowacki continue to fight. I was sure that he was gonna call it off. Glowacki was very unsteady on his feet and didn't seem to respond to Fields was he asked him to come forward. However, Fields assessed and gave Glowacki the benefit of the doubt, and the rest is history - as they say.
Haymon may be able to secure some good paydays but his match-making is terrible. His fighters can't stop losing on his shows. He knows nothing about boxing.

I had similar thoughts, when i saw the fight, i was rooting for Huck and i think that fight would have been called off by 50% of the refs currently in boxing, if Huck was a Haymon fighter it would have been waved off, if the fight was in germany it would have been waved off.
Of course every fight and every knockdown is different, but i see alot of fights being waved off too early, and also a couple of course too late, it takes alot of experience from a ref and i think alot of the fights that are being waved off early are because the homefighter/the A fighter scored a knockdown.
Huck is a haymon fighter...

Ref made a good call, but every fight is different.
He was in there looking into the fighter's eyes, so he could probably sense the condition Glowacki was in at the time.
