Two legendarily steel chi- wait, what?
Seth 'All American' Mitchell. A guy with a nice story behind him, seemingly in-shape, strong, a late starter who at one point was viewed as potentially America's next big hw star...a man to dethrone the Klitschko dominance. Yeah...that didn't happen. Seems Seth's old injury prone bodily antics moved from his busted knee to his busted chin. He has been brutally knocked out by Chris Arreola and Johnathan Banks - both in the opening 2 rounds, and was down many times during those fights. However, he had the heart to keep getting up.
BTW, comedy interlude - Mitchell's main BoxRec picture is now one of him playing American Football rather than boxing or a portrait.
On to the BSI - Big Stiff Idiot, as he is affectionately known. Pricey. Big Dave. Scouse Warrior. Plumber from Liverpool. A man seemingly too nice for boxing, with more sensitive whiskers than this guy.

After being twice beatdown by old man Tony 'Frosties are GRRRReatttt hence my body' Thompson, he at least gave the Tiger some joy in his later years, and some pleasure and pain to TT's now paraplegic wife.

Big David's adventure has now probably been ended by Erkan 'Kebab Salesman on weekends' Teper...a guy with seemingly a good, fan friendly style, but too much of a liking to his kebabs during camp.
The real question is though - who has the WORSE chin out of these two unfortunate souls, who despite their wildest hopes and hard work, found out the hard way that an obese man CAN knock you out, in the heavyweight division.
i would give a slight nod to mitchell, he has never been knocked flat like price just was by teper. banks and arreola probably hit harder than teper and thompson as well.
kebab salesman on weekends :lol1:
Yep, Price is potentially geeting KTFO by any such obese kebab salesman, it seems. As long as the kebab guy comes forward and packs a punch.
And another shame is,
Two of the nicest genuine guys in the sport are Price and Mitchell... while peices of crap like Broner and Kid Chocolate still havent been KTFO.
But for worst chins its probably Price as Mitchell fought better opposition even if just slightly.
Man, both chins are pretty bad lol
I really feel bad for Price though, as I've met a lot of pros and Price is probably the nicest, most genial of the lot. He also knows a bit about boxing too. Take into account Price's size, reach and power and he has the makings of what should/could have been an exceptional heavyweight. But here we are, yet again bemoaning another loss to a less than stellar opponent.
Now, I see a few similarities between Price and the earl Wlad, both folded under pressure, both didn't know how to use their obvious advantages and both needed a good trainer. I'm not sure if Price hast he talent to rebuild now, nor does he have the name recognition for anyone to invest any time in him. Which is sad, because if there's anyone who deserves a break, it's good old Pricey.
the chins of wlad and price are not even close to comparable. price got dropped and stopped by guys that werent known as big punchers and was literally out on his feet. wlad was hit by huge shots from big punchers in brewster and sanders and was still on his feet. granted,,,,wlad doesnt have a good chin but compared to price its like cement
As bad as Price's chin is, his defense is even worse and his offence was weak as hell. Worst jab for such a tall guy I've ever seen. He was getting caught with just about every shot that guy threw. Genuinely looked like some newbie amateur rather than a top rated pro.
:nonono:
Wladimir probably has worse chin than both of them to be fair but he just learned how to protect it better
Mitchell and Price don't last a minute with Corrie Sanders.
i'm gonna go with price. the first thompson knockout makes no sense at all. he got hit with an open handed slap to the side of the head and price went down like a sack of bricks and got up and started dancing. mitchell is also a dance enthusiast but he was being hit with solid punches at least.
Idk you've got one guy who got obliterated by a relatively light hitting Banks then the other is a guy who ended up looking like a turtle stuck on its back from a glancing tap from a 70 odd yr old Thompson.
Its a close one. I'd like to see it answered on Brainiac.

VERY easy to pick this one. One was stopped by an ancient fighter with little power and the other one was stopped by a younger and stronger fighter. Price wins this award as the worst chin. But if they were to fight each other, slight edge to Price because he is more active in the ring.
I think Price, but **** I say lets decide it in the ring, Price vs Mitchell!
Genuinely intriguing match up!
It's now on my wish list below Rigo Loma and Nelo Cotto :lol1:
It has to be Price, has anyone watched both of his fights with Thompson recently? He gets hit with soft shots and they completely rock him, now I understand they are heavyweights but in the second fight with Thompson the punches that knocked him out(tko) were slow as hell and you could tell Thompson was putting barely anything into them. With Mitchell, even though Banks isn't the hardest puncher the shots that caught him were clean and accurate. Just compare the impact of the shots.
I'll have to watch some of Wlad's KOs again, didn't he get laid out on his back a few times? I know he got back up and probably had more problems with stamina but still.
I don't see Price being effective as british champ, not with guys like AJ and Whyte hanging around, or with Chisora if he decides to stick to it or even Hughie (very young still). I can still see Price as a bit of an attraction his Liverpool, maybe make some money as a domestic gatekeeper.
Like I said, I do feel bad for the guy. He has so many tools but he doesn't know how to use them or doesn't WANT to use them. Tonight for example, he threw his right hand maybe twice. That's his big power punch and he was afraid to let it go. :dead:
The Puritty knockout was more a technicality as Sdunek jumped in with the towel to 'save' Wlad. The Sanders fight he kept getting dropped but looked ready to go on. And v Brewster he was completely exhausted and looked more unconscious from that than the punches - he even fell by tripping over the referee's leg and was basically too tired to get up and go on, even though the round had ended.
Damn Wlad looked awful v Puritty haha dancing chicken
