Who on Floyd's resume was a prime p4p quality champion? He has nobody on it as good as Ward. It's full of past-prime and green future titlists. I'd rather they fight at 160 or 168, but two champs fighting at a catch-weight is reasonable. What if Golov gets KTFO ?! .

I wish there was a way to take Floyd's resume and give it to someone else that NSB either loves or is neutral about. That's the only way we can get some people to evaluate it with any measure of intelligence.

Golovkin would have to beat him and I don't see any shame in Ward being better than anyone Mayweather has faced, Ward is an amazing fighter. Now that I've gotten back to going to the boxing gym, I actually appreciate Ward that much more. My issue with Ward is that, it still disturbs the heck out of me that he hasn't faced anyone that can throw short compact punches/ or anyone that can operate up close. Ward hasn't faced someone like a Jesus Chavez, Corrales, Castillo if you catch what I'm saying. Everyone he's been in against, it's been too easy for him to neutralize them up close because they have no inside game. beterbiev might be the guy after a few more fights golovkin can get rough on the inside but he doesn't land his punches as well as he does from outer-mid range

Ward would be probably better than any Mayweather opponent but firstly: For Golovkin to have better resume than Ward it wouldn't be enough just one single fight because Mayweather fought fighters who are very high quality many times not just one time with one very strong opponent, based on this logic, Buster Douglas' and Hashim Rahman's resume shits on Mayweather's because Mayweather probably never beat anyone as good as Lennox Lewis or Tyson at that point. So it's a pointless argument. Secondly: Golovkin's resume won't be any better simply just because he fought Ward, his resume will be only get better from that if he defeats Ward which he won't.

Its amazing how for some fans everything in boxing reverts back to Floyd. You people are sick. All road lead thru Mayweather. Floyd Mayweather is the Gold Standard in boxing and the measure of which all fighters are compared. Really amazing, especially has his age. People talk down his character, heart, body of work. Say he is boring, etc.. but Money was still able to find success and maintain his spot for years. The level of substained excellence put Money over every other fighter and the closer he gets to retirement the more I think its easier to put in perspective, it's getting to the point where you can stack Mayweather up to any fighter P4P in history. Pacquiao >>> Ward. Doesn't matter which version of Pac it was. Pac is simply the much harder and greater fighter to prepare for, and beat. I agree regarding their overall status, However FLoyd fought Pacquiao after he got brutally ko'ed. One of the best KO's in boxing history. If GGG vs Ward happens, thats prime for prime, and if he wins, it's a better win for sure. The timing is there, both at their peak.

Cotto? Mosley? Go back further, Oscar, Trinidad, Morales, Barrera? How many Top 5 P4P guys did some of these guys beat in general let alone prime. Name them. Floyd has beaten more Top 5 ranked guys in the division and more Top 10 P4P fighters than any of the above. Hell, he's beaten more than the vast majority of those guys even fought let alone beat. This isn't 3 or 4 years ago. Besides Mikey Garcia Ward has been one of the most inactive fighters out there. Also GGG isn't fighting Ward anytime soon. So what is a victory over Ward 2 to 3 years from now really worth? In my opinion not much at all. You guys want to put GGG over Floyd so bad yet you don't want to hold him to Floyd standards.
