Avoiding povetkin.
Wilder is overated. Dude wants no part of a inside fighter.
Povetkin's people said themselves that Sept is very unlikely and Wilder has said he wants to fight more than twice this year. So how is he avoiding Povetkin? Is he supposed to sit out in September while they finalize the details with Team Povetkin?
Either Arreola, Antonio Tarver or Steve Cunningham are next up for Wilder! Whichever one is not chosen will be next in line. The Povetkin fight will never happen and a fight with Klitschko has about as much of a chance of happening as I have of winning the lottery.
No way Tarver/Cunningham... they fight in August... but i bet they will be down the line

So your saying Wilder is a paper Champion
I am not surprised that he did not say Povetkin is next because he knows that Al Haymon will never allow him to get in the ring with Povetkin or Klitschko. I I expect Wilder to vacate the belt by the end of 2015 so that he can avoid a fight with Povetkin.
The Povetkin talks don't have to begin till October.
In the mean time, in preparation for the Povetkin (6'2 230) fight, Haymon is putting him in with Eric Molina (6'4 240) and Lucas Browne (6'4 250).
hate if you want
Really? Arreola is so washed up it's remarkable. In his last fight, he went life and death with a C level guy that he would've blown up a year or two ago. Arreola would be the easiest fight for Wilder out of the ranked WBC opponents.
I think Glazkov would be the best choice. He's a solid HW but he doesn't have cracking power.
I guess that's just where I rate Browne.
Honestly I think nothing of him. Just a big lumbering guy who I don't think is that great.
Too bad those are the options, but the top 15 of the WBC doesn't have much to offer (I just glad they don't have Shannon Briggs ranked). I would like to see Tony Thompson even though he's old, his experience would level the field. Wilder will take the easiest fight.

Negotiations start in October, and it has been clear he would fight before then
Glazkov has little chance of beating Wilder. He won't be getting the nod in a close fight either.
I know his not winning but its til better then watching Wilder destroy Chris Arreola in 3 rounds, But they go with Lucas Browne or Charles Martin
We know Povetkin fight will be ordered in October, why the fuk are people still asking about that fight?
As for Glazkov or Browne, I don't think that is "BAD", it is a serious upgrade over Molina, even Amir Monsour would be a good opponent
Maybe... but I'd actually prefer Arreola now... and that's with the possibility of him being out of shape.

Browne is undefeated with one of the highest KO ratios, has beaten a few decent fighters like Andriy Rudenko and Richard Towers.
This would be Wilder's 2nd best opponent, the best one being Stiverne.
Yeah but Browne>Molina
He might not be the most athletic but I've watched a lot of his fights, big guy with serious power.

Deontay Wilder tells me he***39;s aiming for Sept. 26 prime-time NBC return vs. Vyacheskav Gkazkov or Lucas Browne. Says Klitschko in 2016.— Lance Pugmire (@latimespugmire) June 29, 2015

wonder if they'll try to bypass Povetkin for a unification with Wlad next year? Gotta figure his chances of winning either are significantly less than 50%, so why not just go for the much bigger prize?
anyways, I would prefer to see him fight Arreola just because it would goofy. Glazkov and Browne are improvement over Molina, but still kind of meh fights.

Browne isn't all that great though. He'd probably get slept within 4

Glazkov is with Main Events and in line for a shot at Klitschko, so I don't know how realistic that fight is.
Browne is a ranked contender but I don't think it's that great of a match-up.
Hopefully the Povetkin fight gets made after whoever Wilder fights in September.
