Why is this even a discussion at this point? We heard from the man himself, "Ward is too much for me"
In b4 "He don't speak english doe" you can even see him shaking his head with his lips pursed lmao. Weren't GGG fans going crazy after they saw Cotto's facial expression? I'm interested in the excuses.
for a moment the mask slipped and GGG admitted in advance that he didnt want to fight someone good until he was old enough to pretend he lost due to age.
gotta give GGG credit for finally reaching the level where he can win a title in the ring againstweakass Lemieux when he was 35.
i get why andre ward who won his first title in his first title fight at age 25 against the elite titlist number 1 in the division would be too much for him.
That's been the narrative all along hasn't it? 'Of course GGG could have got good fights whenever he wanted. The fact that he chose not to is proof that he isn't very good!'
:lol1: Beyond transparent, man, yet you're still unable to come up with the names of these top guys he could have fought and when he could have fought them. I ask you every time... the same question - who? - and every time all you got is air. What we can do is point to the fights which were made and fell through for whatever reason or where an opponent declined. This is not to say that he would have beaten Froch or Pirog or Lee or Sturm, remember, in order to disprove your assertion that he avoided difficult fights - and the absurd conclusion you rest upon it - we merely have to demonstrate that he made efforts to make these fights or actually made them.
Look I don't know how good he was, or could have been, but what I do know is the inability to land good top level fights is not evidence that a fighter isn't top level, which is the thrust of your argument. Weak, man, just weak.
And using this - GGGs broken English - to bolster your case? :nonono:

Old thread but it looked like GGG dismissed the question because it was stupid and pointless, it was more akin to GGG saying "Ward is too much weight for me." Ward was at 168 and GGG at 160, the fight couldn't be made.
I don't even know what the point of these dumb threads are.
GGG scared of Ward doe.
So?
Does that make this dumb poster feel good or what?
I still don't get it.
Charlo is still fighting bums after all these years, yet I don't see these dumb posters making threads about it.
I think GGG ruined these peoples' lives.
This is laughable. Gennady clearly had trouble with English. At the end of the interview he had to get a question repeated because he didn't understand what the interviewer meant. Even you don't really believe what you are claiming.
Remember how unbelievably stupid these people are.

Man, you really are reaching with this crap again!
"Andre ...too much for me .... not today"
Do you think GGG thought he was being asked to fight Andre
what do you think they were talking about, tiddlywinks?
Watch the fight again tomorrow and take all emotions out of it. Golovkin threw his stiff jab and landed quite a bit on Jacobs, but that's not the main story. The main story is that his counterjab was doing a ton of damage. Start watching rounds ~4-8, you'll see him picking off Danny's jabs and landing his own to snap Danny's head back.
IMO the only reason judges gave him the fight is because his jab controlled the fight.
Also, I'm not sure what you mean by 'how little Golovkin threw'. He threw/landed less than he usually does, which is true. But he threw plenty and landed at a great rate.
Final CompuBox stats: Golovkin 233-of-618 (38%) Jacobs 176-of-542 (32%)— ESPN Stats & Info (@ESPNStatsInfo) March 19, 2017
Edit - also just saw this. Golovkin landed 106 jabs vs. 31 for Jacobs. I think you're thinking Danny outjabbed him because Rozier kept talking about the jab during the breaks.

I listened to Box Nation commentary.
I must be ****ing blind, same as the commentators, but it is absolutely impossible that Golovkin threw that many jabs. Absolutely baffling numbers.
The only emotion I had was higher expectations from Golovkin. Maybe I underrated Jacobs and his size and overrated Golovkin.
Thinking about it hours later, I could see the writing on the wall against Murray for GGG by how lame he looked against a higher-caliber fighter while also seeing it for Jacobs against Pirog by how well he did. Also considering he was once the highest rated amateur in the US.
I seriously don't ****ing understand how Golovkin outjabbed Jacobs. We must've been watching different fights, because Jacobs used his jab 100x more effectively than Golovkin.
It's baffling how little Golovkin threw yet was more "active".

Power and reach is what kept Jacobs in the fight, neither of which Ward excels at. Jacobs got outjabbed the whole night and had very little head movement. I wouldn't call combos Ward's strength either.
Blah blah blah 160 is weak blah blah lil g. There's a whole squad of you morons whose only reason to visit NSB is to pat each other on the back while saying 'lil g'.
This fight had nothing to do with Ward. Go talk about his rematch clause with kovalev.

It was obvious to anyone with a boxing IQ why GGG bytched up and ran from the ward fight. Jacobs just made it clear for the GGG dyck riders because Jacobs just did a fraction of what ward is better at to GGG. easy fight for ward
talking about ward-ggg is like talking about joshua-ward..
ward is not able to use his ugly tactics against man his size. kovalev made fool of him a few times he tried.
p2p genna destroys ward no doubt about that, but the difference between the size of two man is 2 weight divisions. pointless discussion.
first time ward wasn't the bigger man in the ring he was put down and was lifting opponent's leg hoping to survive.
:lol1: :lol1:

So a guy like Brook's power is enough to lift lil gift off his feet but SOG's isn't HAHA.
Ward's been fighting p4p competition since his early 20's, when you have a resume as quality as his you're less likely to get a record with a high KO ratio. Look at lil gift going 12 with a top 5 guy in his division tonight. Ward has the size, raw strength (admitted by several opponents), footwork, jab, combo punching, body punching, power etc. to maul lil gift.
Jacobs was using a jab followed by lateral movement to get off the ropes, lil gift couldn't get his offense off. That's management of distance. His head movement on the ropes also had lil gift looking slow and uncoordinated.
I could just imagine what SOG would do pumping his jab to the stomach, smothering him on the inside, creating angles teeing off on his skull.
