He is fighting at 172 vs d class fighter who is more sparring work.
Who do you wanna see ward fight after that more
Kovalev
stevenson
pascal
Fonfara
Froch rematch
GGG
Quillen
I truly believe that he will go undefeated with today's crop of competition so it's not a matter of what order he takes them in, but that he keeps active. Granted, he should probably clear all doubts at 168 before moving up because going back down tends to cause problems for guys. I'd say, get Golovkin to fight him in 2016 since Genady claims to want it. Then go up and school Stevenson, Kovalev, etc. I think he's already 31 so he's going to be battling father time soon and needs to make his legacy cemented in the next 4 years. That's not a lot of time considering how difficult it is to get championship fights negotiated these days.
From April 2013...

I want to , I've talked about that since I've been a kid, Ward said, apparently straight-faced. It seems crazy right now, but I'm not gonna be sixty-eight forever
You got to fight the right heavyweight, he admitted, but added: As a fighter, I believe I could beat a Klitschko I'm wired to believe that, I think it could happen, absolutely.
"Going up to light heavyweight for the right fight -- not to campaign up there, but for the right fight -- is an option. So we've just got to sit back and see what makes sense. I think I earned the right to pick the right fight for the right price."
Andre Ward - 12/21/2011
So what's the 'right' fight? He said that and 9 months later made the LHW champ Dawson who was coming off a victory over Hopkins, drain down and fight him at 168. I don't see the guy who refused to travel during the S6 taking Kovalev anytime soon. He'll fight Rubio, Medina, or Periban this year, unless RN takes out the money for someone like Golovkin.
I'm a big Ward fan, and it pains me to see that since he climbed as high as #2 P4P, he has fought once in virtually the last 3 years...and that fight was against Edwin Rodriguez...smh
Seems unreasonable to expect Ward (or anyone) to bounce up and down in weight. Like most fighters, when he moves up he'll stay up.
He already fought heavier as an amateur then came back down as a pro so don't be so sure
I'd like to see Ward Vs Kovalev firstly. But i think Ward will go back to 168 after the Smith fight.
Secondly, would be Golovkin. But i don't see GGG moving up a division any time soon.
Who that leaves, i don't know. Not many good fights at all for Ward at 168.
Ward-Kovalev would be a great fight once Ward is back in top condition. By far the biggest and most evenly matched fight.
Ward-Stevenson runner up but Ward probably wins this one easy. Stevenson is a very predictable fighter and even Fonfara (who is also a very standard, meat and potatoes fighter) started figuring him out and timing him as the fight went on.
Ward-DeGale/Groves would definitely be interesting but I think "standard" Ward fights where he frustrates them and doesn't give them opportunities. Groves is the less orthodox of the two (compared to DeGale) and moves more so I give him a slightly better chance of the upset.
I think GGG is way too small for Ward who is fighting at 172 and GGGs bully style would probably play right into Ward's strengths. Not an interesting fight IMO. Much bigger guy moving in and out on a small puncher.
The Dirrells... Nah who cares. Those guys disappoint literally every time.
dude how the f**k is anybody supposed to be able to concentrate or even formulate gotdamn sentences with that upton sig of yours, smh

:boobies:
Sorry about that. Glad you like it, though!
We all know what is going to happen in Froch vs SOG . so that option is out.
Like to see by order
GGG at 168
Kovalev at 175
Degeale at 168
Direll at 168
Stevenson at 175
Thats it. Ward retires possibly undefeated and as a HOF fighter.
Seems unreasonable to expect Ward (or anyone) to bounce up and down in weight. Like most fighters, when he moves up he'll stay up.
Ward not leaving 168 he is testing himself as a heavier weight to see how he feel according to Hunter. Ward likely goes back to 168 for his next fight. His Body will tell him where he should fight at not The Fans!
Remember that the next time someone starts saying that Golovkin needs to move to 168. :nutkick:
