Stop it Roach and Cotto both said it was their plan to drain Geale..that was the entire point of demanding 157 and threatening to not fight without it

Very good points. The only way this helps his stock is if he calls out Golovkin after the fight is over. Possibly Canelo, but due to the common opponent, comparisons are going to be made. Even a loss might be better for Cotto in the long term. He would no longer have to deal with Golovkin, he could just come out and say that he gave it his best shot but now he realizes that he is simply too small for MW and will return to 154. He would still be able to get his showdown with Canelo, at 154 where it should be, and he will be applauded for standing up and being honest.

Cotto cannot come out of this fight looking good no matter how he wins. IF he takes Geale out faster than GGG did, it will be overshadowed by the fact that he forced Geale to drain to 157. If it goes deep into the fight, or goes the distance, Cotto looks really bad because he couldn't even stop a drained Geale. If the worst happens and Cotto loses, he loses all credibility at MW and I don't think we see him again for another year. Smh. Team Cotto should be locked up for attempted for murder. This was extremely dangerous. Making a poor man nearly kill himself for a payday. Smh. God have mercy on them. Lets just hope that Geale shows something and doesn't get demolished like he did against GGG. If Cotto demands catch weights against GGG and Canelo, will they agree? Cotto has backed himself into a corner. If he doesn't destroy Geale like Golovkin did, the criticism will really increase. He's really in a lose-lose situation here, and due to the common opponent, those comparisons will be fair. Cotto needs to take on Golovkin next if he plans on avoiding the negative press. If you look at similar face front shots from the GGG weigh in and today's weigh in, you would see that Geale is much more dehydrated than he was in the past. Not only will this weaken him, even after he rehydrates, it can be very dangerous for possible brain injury due to the reduction of protective brain fluid. Cotto is a dick and this was a cowardly move he pulled. He belongs back at 154 and he proved it today by weighing in under the 154 limit.
