On what planet is BET a fringe station?
Hate if you want, but BET is available in nearly 90m homes.
So is PBS, you telling me that's a highly watched channel?
You do realize that the demographic the View attracts is about as far from a boxing audience as you are likely to get, don't you? Bored white republican housewives who think that watching Whoopi Goldberg is a cutting edge and wild thing to do are not going to be tuning in to BET to watch boxing. Most of them will be in bed by the time the fight comes on and that is assuming that BET is even part of their cable package, which is a really slim possibility.
Republicans don't watch the View brah, opposite end of the spectrum, they invite them on and all the ultra liberal dyke hosts chew them out.
Other than that you're probably right.
Andre Ward is just hard to market
He's a nice guy, christian, softly spoken, and his style of boxing is to technical
In contrast trash talking Broner is far more marketable, even with losses on his record. His style is eye catching and his antics in and outside of the ring appeal to the youth
Sometimes it pays to be rock and roll
No amount of exposure will help Ward appeal to the masses.
Adrien Broner is never going to be able to sell Sprite or Coca Cola; Ward has that potential.
All Ward needs is to get active fighting again and get the opportunity to put his face in front of people.
Put him on the View, put him on ESPN, give him the opportunity to sit with the New York media/marketing outfits, and the brands will see a relatively young, charismatic, p4p fighter, without the out-of-the-ring issues that would give people pause (doubt that the advertisers care about his actual fighting style).

I'm glad Andre Ward is getting exposure appearing on The View. The man is an awesomely skilled boxer, he is elite and deserves much much more than he has now. He is #2 P4P.
TBH I had him #1 P4P right round when he beat Chad Dawson, however his inactivity cost him that spot.
Have you seen him in a Jordan commercial? Jordan ad? He should be on your television stations is what I am getting at.
He was in a Nike commercial. (0:45)
.... Jordan brand, Everlast, and Shoe Palace have basically been sponsoring him since he won the gold medal. Not the reach of a Subway commercial, but don'
t play it like he's got nothing.

He should be a superstar. Sublime skill and abilities, well spoken and not butt fugly. Why isn't he? Lack of sponsors. Ward should have been the boxer in the Subway commercials.

The guys on a major network promoting a fight on a fringe station lol.

That's the whole point. To target different demographics. Boxing fans already know who Ward is and when he's fighting.

Because he doesn't have the style.
If he was more c0cky and animated and whipped up controversy like Floyd he probably would be.
he could be the next Floyd if he just chose to play the bad guy and make everyone want to see him lose. he wont do it though
