In front of all of the media, photographers, fans, etc who are tired of catchweights and Cotto's diva act.. (and of course I also hope he suffers no damage)
This could jumpstart much needed changes to ban catchweights.
What he is going through right now is really unnecessary and dangerous..I don't care that he signed the contract...its still not right.
He is not a top pound for pound type of fighter and Miguel shouldn't be worried about him so much to make him fight at 157. Regardless, all catchweights are dumb considering how many divisions there are now.
LOL these clowns still crying about Cotto when he's really a small 147 fighter why doesn't that bum crusher move up to face SOG if he's such a beast? foh
Oh look! Another alt! Another spot on my ignore list! :nutkick:

Bro foh your god canelo is the lineal champ at 155 don't forget he won his title at a 150 catchweight and he still came over dumbass can't think
That awkward moment when you compare non-title fights at 155, to a WBC lineal MW world championship fight.
NE, when you refer to yourself in the 3rd person, you're pretty much a diva
all i'm waiting for now is for Cotto to add 'The' before referring to himself in the 3rd person
Kellerman: that was a great performance, Miguel...what's next for you?
Cotto: The Miguel Cotto will take some time off and decide with his team...we will decide what is best for The Miguel Cotto
ne disagreesies
Why? Won't matter, his Stan's will spin it and make it look like Cotto is a God.
He can't do no wrong with his Stan's. He's "earned" all of this as far as their concerned.

Cotto and JMM are 2 of my favourite fighters..to watch them both turn into big divas at the back end of their career is a sad thing.
i don't think the term "diva" is fair.
these guys aren't afraid. they're great boxers, after all. cotto is a hall of famer. marquez is an all time great.
they're businessmen looking to make a F#ckload of money without taking a pounding. if you don't take a beating, you can fight again.
Exactly. They act like these no names being cherry picked can turn down 1mil paydays. :lol1:
"He took the fight doe."
you get a call from your people, probably dr shaw hi, telling you that cotto's people got in touch. you literally start to salivate.
"at the table" cotto's people let you know their terms, which include a weight that is going to compromise you. you can take those terms or leave them.
your manager makes 30%, ballpark.
your promotor probably gets a flat fee and tries to profit after your purse and costs.
they want you to take the fight.
do you take a million dollars, or leave it?
he took the fight for money.
you seem to think that means he'll be healthy because he took the fight. other than that, i'm not sure what you're trying to get across.

He agreed to the CW though... If you agree to it then you can't complain about it. He didn't have to take the fight.

This is f*cking stupid. Who wouldn't take the fight? Really? tell me who?
This is like giving a starving man a piece of hard bread. No sh*t he's gonna take the damn bread. Had Cotto's people not chosen Geale, it would've been years before Geale got another title shot after the GGG loss.
Why can't people understand this?
He made the choice, I'm incapable of giving a damn. Maybe if he was a damn good middle I'd somewhat care but he isn't so......
you can't ban catchweights :lol1:
they've always been a part of boxing. go back through it if you don't believe me.
you've got issues with the 30 hour weigh in window, - which allows fightesr to make unrealistic weights at the time of the weigh in, - and higher billed fighters demanding that larger fighters shed weight dangerously to accommodate them.
Actually it would be a simple thing for the sanctioning bodies to ban catchweight clauses from title fights.
Apparently Cotto chose Geale as his opponent because Geale was the only one willing to accept all of Cotto's terms. Says a lot about Cotto that everyone else refused him. If not for Geale, he would still be looking for an opponent.
