What a good scrap last night. I was certain this would look like khan vs Malignaggi. But damn, Algieri came to fight and just keeps getting better and better.
I thought it was a tough fight to score. Infact, I need to go back and re watch /score it. Khans combos were fast his boxing was good. But Algieri's effective aggression was great. If only he had serious pop we might have had a KO2.
For a guy with a very limited boxing background. He just keeps getting better. What do you think his ceiling is?

Good to see someone give Algeri some credit as oppose to ripping Khan.
I like him. He has heart and looked a totally different fighter from his last couple of fights. Not sure how far he can go but he's got that great white hope look about him.
Problem is, he is also contender material. Gets a bit of a beating everytime he fights.
Algieri needs to stick at WW
He knows how to train his body...
He is 5'11" almost 6"...and must have been ATLEAST 160+ pounds last night...(as big as they come at WW)
With more time he is only going to get better...he is a natural...he really is.
He did good, looks like Khan's cherry pick blew up in his face. Khan is a joke, he should have fought Brook, that might have gotten Floyd. But instead he fought a guy who was dropped 8 times in his last 2 fights and barely won. Rematch Maidana or at least fight a top WW if you want the top dog, 140 lb fighters with little power won't earn a Floyd fight.
algieri was always good. i've said it MANY MANY TIMES but people laugh at me and call me a weirdo. algieri PROVED how good he was when he beat the beast provo. that should have been very clear to everyone. just because he lost to manny he's all of a sudden a bum a freak sucker momma's boy?????? give me a break. algieri is a former world champ and he has a good chance of being a champ again.
This is nsb. Having a loss='s bum status
Khan may have won the fight (I didn't think so, I scored it a draw) but Algieri is the real winner. Today everyone is talking about how impressive Chris looked last night, his trainer JDJ and potential future matchups. People are genuinely excited about his guy - Algieri came into this fight in tremendous shape and fought a really inspiring intensive and exciting fight.
If this is the new Chris Algieri I definitely want to see more of him. Love to see him in against Rios, Bradley or even rematch against Pacquaio
John David Jackson had the correct key to the cage, Tim Lane had the wrong Key.
You have to be at least a little impressed with Algieri last night, he was at huge disadvantage stylistically and had to fight in a way that isnt his normal style. I still cant believe he was able to have Khan doing a funny dance.
what was time lane (algirei prior trainer) thinking by keeping suck a beast in a cage? He could have had Pacquaio and Mayweather under his belt and with that under his belt they wouldent have robbed him against khan.

His ceiling? Interesting question. I think he can get a welterweight title under him, with his size advantages, he'd be a tough ask for Porter or Alexander. I reckon he'd have a good scrap with Brook, who knows, maybe his size can squeeze him a win.
I like how versatile Algieri can be, he has shown boxing ability in the past and an ability to box on the back foot, now he showed some terrific offensive ability. Khan isn't an easy guy to let off punches against but he did it quite well. If only he had more power.
