Has 2-time world champion Marcos "El Chino" Maidana done enough in the ring to be inducted into the boxing hall of fame?
I think, yes, he has. Vote and discuss.
Hall of fame is a joke nowadays. Sylvester Stallone? Really?
I think it was as an observer or something like that. A contributor to boxing popularity. Not as a fighter.
the WBA has a "super" champion and a regular champion.
Thanks for giving me such insightful information. :lol1:
Can we quickly agree if Khan is the champion with WBA then Maidana is not the champion? "regular" title or not.
And by the way, wasn't his "interim" title turned into the regular title or something like that?
Really impressive stuff and HOF worthy!
Let's induct Scott Quigg into the HOF now we're at it.
He's still 31, he still has some good 3-4 years left, he still can achieve a lot. He needs to get back to the gym ASAP though.
I think a guy like Maidana, with his style, is done. He has one more year of prime left. In 2-3 years he will be shot. But he was a badass while it lasted, toughest fight I have seen Floyd in since Castillo.
Maidana is not a HOF'er and I doubt he racks up wins that lead him to be one. Who knows what the criteria is. There's no set numbers or amount of wins, or KO's or UD's you gotta get, or amount of top 10 contenders beaten, or amount of world champions beaten. There's nothing, it's literally just fame, it's all over the place.
Have standards dropped that low?
There are not standards. What are the standards, do you know them? There are no set standards.
I went with reserving my decision until he retires..Maidana has a very good resume, unfortunately he also has a lot of L's in his big fights..I think he's close,he just needs a solid few wins for me to say yes..
Maidana is the gatekeeper for guys who need to know if they're elite...
Ortiz and Broner were both hyped and he put them on twerk street making them re-evaluate their careers.
