I like DeGale and had him winning by 2 rounds but Froch is a totally different animal. DeGale hasn't got the engine to deal with Froch and Carl would knock him out as soon as he tired, which would be around the sixth round.
50/50 Fight.
Froch is older and battle proven.
Degale is young and hungry.
I'd favour Degale at the moment, but...
If Froch finds the motivation he (at his best) stops Degale late.
Agreed, but that doesn't mean it would be easy. After seeing DeGale fade last night, I see him running out of gas and getting stopped late while being ahead on the cards.
That could happen, DeGale has long had this habit of fading in the middle to late rounds. I personally think he needs a new team behind him, a better nutritionist and a better coach.
Now when DeGale just got the WBC belt, I don't think that Hearn would put him in front of Froch -- in case Froch wins, the Brits will lose that belt, because froch retires soon.
But it might end in a stoppage

If he fades like this against Froch it's not going to end well for him. I think he's technically superior to Froch though... but so are a lot of other fighters and they end up losing to him lol.
Yep. Froch is not the kind of fighter you fade that badly against.
Can't hit what you can't see? Are you having a laugh mate? Dirrell was landing at will in the mid rounds, it was embarrassing.
You need to watch again man. At will? Dirrell threw combos and he'd be lucky he 1 landed clean
I think Froch's only chance at beating DeGale is knocking him out late on in the championship rounds if DeGale gasses. Other than that I see a points win for chunky.
I would like to see this fight happen, if no GGG vs Froch next. I could see DeGale lasting all 12 rounds against Froch, but it wouldn't shock me if the Cobra were to strike and get the KO.

Yeah, because Froch's style mirrors Dirrell's.
Didn't really rate DeGale early in career, but he has developed well into a pro style and is a tricky fighter who is effective at what he does. A fight against Froch is hard to call because although DeGale has the youth and skill advantages, Froch is usually the less skilled guy in any of his fights. At this point with Froch getting on a bit and probably a lack of motivation in a potential fight with DeGale, JD would probably outbox him to a fairly comfortable decision unless he was caught with something big.
Hopefully Groves wins the WBC belt though and there can be a big unification and rematch for DeGale.
Does he heck, Froch has the nerve to criticise Degale's performance when he was lucky to win himself. How about you give him some credit before you claim a less than stellar Froch who was losing both Groves fights before the KO knocks out chunky. I've met Khan multiple times, I use to train at his gym too. Don't even try making any silly comments. "We dont want you here?", what gives you the right to choose you big headed twat. No doubt I've had more amateur bouts than you either.
This Dirrell was no where near as sharp as the one that fought Froch. Five years five fights was it? Nah mate Dirrell landed some good shots and good combos. If he had any pop he'd have hurt DeGale bad. James' engine is crap and Carl is a 15 round fighter, I can only see one outcome.
The Dirrel Degale faced was much better than the one Froch lost to,
I doubt Froch wud have beat this Dirrel, cudnt even beat a green Dirrel
and no Forch wudnt beat Degale
Degale is all wrong for Froch, Groves has a suspect chin, and before the stoppages he was soundly making Froch look proper ****e
Degale has a solid chin and he's a better boxer than Groves
and dare i say it Degale hasnt reached his prime yet, he'll get better and better from now on
Dirrel is a much better boxer than Froch
and thats the only reason Dirrel had some success
Froch doesnt have the skills and Degale will find it much easier to fight him
I'd say this Dirrell was probably better than the one who fought Froch due to the experience he's gained and new mental toughness he now shows. You got to remember Dirrell only had 18 pro fights before he faced Froch and Froch was his first fight in the Super 6 and a huge step up from Dirrell's previous opposition, at the time, yet many people thought Dirrell still beat Carl!
Five fights in five years isn't good. And I had Dirrell beating Froch as well, I'm not going to like to suit my agenda.
