So after accusing Amir Khan and Floyd Mayweather of cherry picking, he's fought Mayweather's leftovers in Guerrero and now his fighting the guy Khan dropped three times and outclassed last year. How does that work? Keith one time has an average resume, even though he has potential he needs to simmer down cause he's unproven as hell. "No one wants to fight me"... http://www.boxingscene.com/alexander-open-facing-thurman-guerrero-next--79224
Devon Alexander was more than happy to fight him.
Watch out next year, someone like Matthysse will just move up and make him sleep.
Edit: some of the contradictions - http://youtu.be/bPTVMA6Ukh0
For the record I like Thurman's attitude and it's great for boxing that he wants to fight all the big names however, calling Mayweather and Khan cherry pickers and then fighting the same guys they "cherry picked" doesnt look good on you. They both have infinitely better resumes right now and actions speak louder than words and right now, Thurman is showing me that he says one thing and his career does the other. Khan would get slaughtered for doing what Thurman is doing and he is rightfully getting stick for the Algieri fight but that doesn't mean Thurman gets a pass for this monkey business. This thread is to purely point out the nonsense he is saying and not taking away from his good boxing ability and potential.
Plent of contradictions in here http://youtu.be/bPTVMA6Ukh0:dead:
To be fair: He didn't speak about the Collazo fight, he talked about Alexander and Algieri because both of them came from lower weightclasses. It's a stretch and not cool because Guerrero went to ww in the same year s Devon (2012) but he didn't bash the Collazo fight at least.
And I don't know why he brought up Mayweather as a cherry picker though...
I think this interview was more like a publicity stunt, and a marketing trash talk than anything else but yes you're right that it's not cool to call a cherry pick the Alexander fight while he fights Collazo.
I hope Thurman gets those bigger opportunities later in this year because he is very talented and a natural born star, I mean he can talk, there would be no problem to sell this guy.

However I don't say I don't believe it, it's not a cool thing, I can criticize my favourites when it's needed but don't get overboard. Many fighters contradict themselves, it's not that big thing imo... Not coo, but also not something I'm upset about. And his options were truly limited.
Maybe Haymon wants Berto or Devon as a welcome opponent to Danny Garcia in welterweight...
He isn't ducking anybody and stuff like that...
Link works fine for me, however I agree it's not something to take too personally but the point I'm making is that it's arrogant and ignorant to roast other fighters and then follow in their footsteps. (Literally)

I'm not going to defend the match up because it is BS but at the same time when it comes to negotiations I'm sure it is not easy finding opponents for him so all he can do is keep destroying who ever they put in front of him and just be patient and wait for that big match up to come because it is going to have to happen eventually and I think most in the Division knows that and is putting it off for as long as they can until they really have no choice but to fight him.
He should get the winner of Broner vs Porter Next, No Excuses! Andre Berto is available, why not him vs Berto. Easy for use to fans to say but again it is no telling what is going on behind closed doors. People are probably saying they would fight Thurman publicly but when the call is made and the fight is offered I'm willing to bet it is a different story behind closed doors.
Thurman will be fine, I'm not going to destroy the guy for 1 Fight that I'm sure wasn't his first choice but the best PBC could do for him now to keep him active until something Bigger comes along
Berto has been a ***** show, even the fight he won last. He's done. Lol, Berto. Smh
Link? If he did it's obviously a bad thing to do, not cool but just because that he won't be off of my favourite fighters list. I mean it's not a felony.
Truth is Haymon says all of his fighters who they fight and who they don't, with the only exception of Mayweather so either Haymon fighter shouldn't accuse an other Haymon fighter with cherry picking.

Who else wants to fight Thurman???
So why do you (and other GGG haters )bash GGG when his fans says "who else wants to fight him ? everyone is ducking him" ? you cant play it both ways , either we believe there is immense ducking or immense cherry picking in the boxing world or we dont , This is a garbage fight and thats all there is to it , you can make claims on why he took it but thats irrelevant to the fact that this fight stinks.
Oh man... H just beat Guerrero now we really start to walking around and yell that he ducks the likes of Berto and Devon Alexander? Please a little more soberness. You didn't say it directly but from your comment it looks like you're accusing Turman to duck those guys, lol... After he beat easily Guerrero. Rrrright....
Who the hell talks about Berto or Alexander as top contenders or dangerous welterweights in 2015? Nobody.
How is Alexander much better? He's clearly faded. Didn't you see his last two fights? Porter ragdolled him all night and he was a shell against Khan also. He did literally nothing other than he watched closely how Khan jumps in and out while he lands on him.
A Collazo fight now is about the same level or just a little worse than an Alexander one. Same rules apply to a hypothetical Berto fight.
I'm not talking about Berto or Alexander as top opponents or dangerous welterweights. Not to Keith Thurman, anyway. And that's the point. Thurman has reached a level where guys like Berto and Alexander are the fights he should be taking in between the good ones.
Have you seen the last 7 years of Collazo's career? He was done when Devon Alexander and Andre Berto were still prime. It isn't 2008 anymore. Collazo is a much worse fight than those guys. He lost to Berto, for crying out loud.
It's not ducking, but Keith Thurman should have pushed for better, because there was better out there.
No but he called Mayweather a cherry picker and fought the same opponent.

What's your point here buddy?
Can you name me a fighter who isn't full of contradictions?
Guerrero isn't a cherry pick, he was and maybe he currently is on most of the ww top 10 lists which is a serious thing since ww is probably the strongest weight class right now.
And Collazo as I said... He didn't have much better options. I just listed why.
No but he called Mayweather a cherry picker and fought the same opponent.
Excuse me? Read the damn thread, I'm not crucifying anyone but rather exposing contradictions. I've not got a problem with Thurman, his attitude is great for boxing but at the moment he's proving to be a box of contradictions so I will expose the error of his words until he proves me wrong. End Of. "Khan's best win is against a blown up welter", then he fights a blown up welter, "Mayweather and Khan are a cherry picker", then he fights Guerrero and Collazo.

Alexander would have been a much better opponent. MUCH better. Berto would have been better.
Collazo is shot and has done nothing recently besides beat whatever the hell was left of Victor Ortiz.

I know that in this forum everybody gets instantly crucified if he fights a lesser opponent than he fought before but think a little before you post.
More credible opponents in his weightclass:
Maidana --> overweight, fights nobody till the end of the year
Porter --> moves downs to 144 fights Broner
Khan --> fights Algieri
Brook --> fights Gavin
Floyd -->won't fight him in September, and if there would be a chance for it Thurman would go for it either for the money or for the glory or for both.
Guerrero --> Thurman already beat him
Pac --> injured, and with TR so fight isn't realistic
Rios -->he's with TR too.
Bradley --> with TR, fights Jessie Vargas
So the question is dear Salim Shandy: Do you really want to crucify Thurman because he fights Collazo?
And please don't come wit Devon Alexander. That's just a stretch to say something. It's a bluff. The current form of Alexander is shot as ****, you know that too he wouldn't pose much more threat to Thurman than Collazo right now... Guerrero and Diego Chavez were both tougher opponents for Thurman than this washed up Devon.
Think a little before you post or especially before you make threads please!

Would Haymon throw Alexander in there with Thurman with Alexander coming off a one-sided loss? Two back to back defeats would be a massive setback for Dev.
Yeah that's just not true. Chavez was winning the fight although momentum had shifted .
Chaves wasn't winning the fight, he was down on all 3 scorecards, I had him 2/3 points down as well. He started well but Thurman wore him down.
Chaves is with TR so a rematch is unrealistic as well as unnecessary. Chaves vs Sadam Ali looks likely to happen. That's a great fight.
Alexander would have been a much better opponent. MUCH better. Berto would have been better.
Collazo is shot and has done nothing recently besides beat whatever the hell was left of Victor Ortiz.
Granted, but people are acting like Thurman turned those fights down and chose to fight someone else. If that's true, then they should show some evidence to support it.

You say all this based on what? What Thurman says? Why should we believe him over the other fighters?
Brook has been calling out Manny Pacquiao since 2010, so I guess no one can criticise him?
I understand you can't fight a killer every time but to suggest Thurman is the only guy with no options is crazy.
Forget what Thurman says, and tell me who is calling him out? only Alexander and Collazo. Brook has said his name, but Eddie Hearn calls the shots and has matched him against Gavin.
I don't like the Collazo fight at all, you can guarantee Thurman doesn't like it much either but he is fighting three times this year, not two, so hopefully he can get a better fight in the Autumn.
