Arum rules out Pacquiao-Matthysse "not gonna happen"

Pretty early to start judging it, especially just because Arum rules out this fight, which isn't exactly in high demand. They had plans to work together on Cotto-Canelo, but those plans changed. Can't fault either side for how that went down, Cotto simply chose to go another direction...a direction that looks like it will still lead Cotto back to Canelo. There'll be plenty of opportunities in the future, perhaps with the winner of Timothy Bradley-Jesse Vargas against Sadam Ali, or Lucas Matthysse against Brandon Rios. Those are TR/GBP fights that presumably HBO would have an interest in, and as long as HBO is working with Top Rank and Golden Boy, there will likely be a financial incentive for them to work together. That's because people are use to taking whatever slop uncle Bob feeds them. Nobody is asking for Pac vs Porter,Thurman,Canelo,Broner,Khan,Garcia,Maidana because we know it's going to be one of a handful of Arum's guys Crawford,Vargas,Bradley3,Marquez 10, etc... none of those fights are as appealing as the fights I mentioned above but for some reason Manny doesn't have to fight those guys.

I doubt Bob is feeding a Manny to a GBP fighter, he's going to have him lose to one of his own. this........

Good. I think Lucas stops Manny at this point. He is a shell of his 2010 self Lol 2010 Pacquiao, who did he fight in 2010? A decent fighter in Clottey and a non top 10 ranked Margarito at 150lbs in a fluke of a championship fight. You think these guys at 140 and 147 can beat Pacquiao? The only way they beat him is if his shoulder is ****ed and the surgery has gone wrong. Thurman could very well beat Manny, so could Lucas. Manny isn't the same fighter and Thurman and Lucas aren't Rios and Algieri lol.

I don't know about that but Pacquiao is clearly off-limits. He just made them a mint of money and I guess all sides will ultimately look towards a rematch. Crawford-Matthysse is the fight at 140 right now anyway, Oscar should petition the WBO to make it happen. Unfortunately he probably won't and Matthysse will end up with the Cuenca-Yang winner or Victor Postol if Garcia vacates. WBO is Arum's personal sanctioning body.

Manny & Floyd (to an extent) are at an odd part of their career, anyone they face is a step backwards some opponents being mentioned are a HUGE step backwards. A win over Matthysse means/does nothing for Manny just like a win over Khan means/does nothing for Floyd career wise, They may make some $ but it defines nothing. Geez, now I am beginning to talk myself into a rematch... lol

Why would Pacquaio fight Matthysse anyway? What is the actual point of that fight? It doesn't mean anything.
