Who wins and why? I'm a big fan of both but with the manner in which Golovkin has been fighting lately, I think Hagler would wear him down. Hagler was dropped once in his career and to this very day, he is still adamant that it was a slip lol:boxing:
Edit: before the retarded comments, I agree that it would be outrageous to compare them but from an entertainment perspective, this would make pleasant viewing.
danCov I agree with you but thats true in ALL the divisions. All the champs are not elite!
Watching Rigo & Chocolitito are the exceptions! The rest including Wlad & Floyd are getting by with picking opponents who don't come to fight.
They don't put their balls down and give everything they have. A guy like Maidana is not supposed to go the distance let alone bash around a so-called great fighter!
It's not easy being great and their not arpound every generation!

Same wrinkles I seen in the Ouma fight but hey guess he was ill again.
The guys overrated its plain and simple, if people can't see it then I don't know what to say.
Its glaringly obvious he is limited as hell, his defense sucks and so on. Reality is he is a flat version of Roman Gonzalez with not 1/4 of the talent.
He is good, he is strong, he hits f*cking hard but elite? Unbeatable? and all this, absolutely not. A good fighter in a dead division.
Winning is good, its the main thing but those flaws will show up again and if its against a legitimate world class fighter his power might not bail him out.
He isn't worthy of being put in the same sentence as Hagler not that many are but its just absurd and the worrying thing is you have people genuinely brainwashed enough to think GGG knocks him out.agreed 100%

Take an aspirin brotha you don't need a daily mental breakdown on here it's just a boxing forum.
Btw that was a teeth in cheek comment.

Hagler had a very good reach for someone his size, he wasn't the biggest of middles but he had a 75' reach and arguably the greatest southpaw jab, I don't see what range Golovkin will be able to operate from in this fight. Then you add the fact that Hagler was near impossible to hurt, very resilient, too well conditioned and I honestly don't see a chance for Golovkin.
Hagler did have some closer than expected fights with guys around Golovkin's level. It's not like it's completely impossible, but based on what we've seen so far it's unlikely. Hagler should be a huge favorite in this hypothetical situation.
busts. meaning his face busts easily (swelling, black eyes, bad bruising)..............just look up some of his fights. IE rasado ouma.
hagler has a hard head and would make a mess of his face:
enjoy.............
Bust, means break. Keep reaching.

Haha are you high? Show me a photo where he's been cut.

any fighter to pin down hagler in general...........mighty good luck with that.
also golovkins face is easily busted. easily........his skin breaks easy. hagler had a hard bullet like head & face. very tough skin. this is just suicide mission for golovkin to get him killed.

Really?
I don't think so
Could GGG beat the Willie "Worm" Monroe who beat Hagler is the better question!
I need to see GGG under pressure and see how he deals with being shaken up
Thats what every great fighter must over come to be considerted great.
Haglers rise was against an awsume era for middleweight, probably the toughest road any middleweight has taken even Robinson & Monzon.
GGG has nothing to compare to Haglers rise and right now he isn't at that level.
He is simular in that he has boxing skills and p-unching power. He doesn't use his boxing skills once he feels his opponent can't hurt him and thats noit wise because you can get lumped & bumped up and cuts can stop you too. Hagler had enough pop in both hands that would not allow GGG to walk him down.
So it would be a good match up but for now I don't know what GGG does when shock, rocked, hurt etc.............. and thats what would happen against Hagler. GGG has fought no one even near Haglers skill set and most importantly mind set!
Ray
I see it being similar to Hopkins vs Trinidad (Golovkin as Hopkins) GGG just too skilled and has too elusive head movement.
Hagler's speed isn't impressive at all!
Yeah will unfortunately you see things in a very ignorant way due to a lack of knowledge.
Go troll somewhere else.
Pin down an exceptional inside fighter, good luck with that :lol1:any fighter to pin down hagler in general...........mighty good luck with that.
