Both from Ohio, so you'd think they'd be fraternity brothers. Broner was fighting someone, forget who it was, and they had Porter up in the booth for an interview. Before they ended the interview, the guy asked Porter who he thought would win the Broner fight. Porter went with the other guy :). Both guys fron Ohio, I thought, that was strange...why would he not support his fellow Ohio fighter?
So then I knew that these two weren't exactly buddies. Could be the personalities. Porter has found god, while Broner is flamboyant. Could be a Cincinnati-Cleveland thing, Ohio bragging rights, who knows.
As for the fight, on paper it appears to be a huge mistake by Broner. Broner is a slow, methodical fighter, and Porter is the kind of aggressive mauler that he's not comfortable with. But have questions about Porter, who fought at light middleweight at one time, taking the 144 pound (?) catchweight.
Broner probably has the best stamina in the sport, and can go 12 rounds easily, even while getting pounded on. Will making that 144 pounds drain Porter too much, where he runs out of gas late?
If Adrien can effectively establish his jab he will more than likely easily UD Porter. Easier said than done though.
He doesn't have a jab he is at his best when he fights guys on the inside that's what he did to Demarco.
Yes, Broner has the best stamina of most boxers I've seen. He got pummeled by Maidana, but if you just turned the fight on in the 12 round, you'd have thought Broner was winning :). Broner looked as fresh as the first round, while Maidana was sucking wind.
By slow, I mean Broner is very patient with his punch output. He's quick, but not very busy. He's gonna have to be to get Porters respect.
we know haters gonna hate and its okay for Pacquiao to fight at 144 but not Broner.
Yea err Broner didn't come from f*cking flyweight. He came from a short stint and a mediocre resume at lightweight and featherweight. Porter hasn't fought below 147 before. Cotto came from 140 only to return at a 145 catchweight with Pac.
i heard an interview with Porter where he said he beat lots of Broner's gym mates when they were younger, in the amateurs, so because of that they've had some tension since back in the day.
i don't think ken porter likes AB too much. think about it, they have pretty much polar opposite personalities. hopefully it makes for some good trash talk in the buildup :0). i feel like this is a 50/50 kind of fight considering the catchweight & rehydration clause. without those stipulations i'd have it 60/40 for Porter, but Broner is a live dog either way.
we know haters gonna hate and its okay for Pacquiao to fight at 144 but not Broner.
Wasnt Floyd the one who fought marquez at 144 and not only that but came in overweight by 2 pounds and didnt lose them?
Since when is broner at the pacquiao, floyd and cotto level? When those 3 were fighting in their early days there were no catchweights, they earned their right to do so. Broner hasnt done **** but get humiliated by maidana and a split decision against a shot paulie ****ing malignaggi.
This mtfer really thinks he can call the shots like floyd, GTFOH
