Broner gives off the illusion he has a lot of skill when in fact he doesn't. I think he has good hand speed, good punch selection and decent power. His defence is leaky and his footwork is non existent.

I do not think Broner has more skills than Lucas Matthysse. Broner hasn't shown us much versatility against a live opponent. Lucas has been in the ring with Judah, Alexander, Soto, Peterson, Garcia, and Prov. In those fights, he showed skills and slight adjustments. Lucas can box and become the hunter. Broner stands right there in one spot half of the time, even against smaller guys.

Broner took plenty of punishment against Maidana. Maidana is better than Matthyese. He's not as pretty or flashy but he is better(I myself prefer Lucas) and more effective. Not 100% disagreeing with you, and Maidana is a freaking beast when on a good night, getting ND seems to just piss him more, but Matthysse seems to have better boxing skills when he chooses to use them. I think he's getting smarter about it rather than just going there and trying to beat the crap out of people. I mean, he went 12 rounds with Provodnikov and barely had a bit of swelling in one eye. I though it would have been a more damaging night for Lucas but the beating was so one sided it wasnt even funny. Anyone that wants a rematch just doesnt give a fk about Provodnikov's well being.
