More humiliating beat down of a hype job: Chavez vs Fonfara or Maidana vs Broner?

Both hype jobs against opponents that were accepted by them and their teams as a guys that could be beaten. Not walk overs by any means but both hype jobs were still expected to beat their opponents. Both hype jobs were flat out complaining to the refs as well lol. Both hype-job beating opponents got a point deducted for a small foul. Broner took it to extremes by trying to get Maidana disqualified for the small head butt that was in retaliation for Broner's constant fouls. Also both hype jobs got trash thrown at them too. Broner's humiliation was probably more because he didn't stay for the post fight interview, but Chavez did quit on his stool lol It's a dead heat for me to be honest!

I got more satisfaction from seeing Broner eat humble pie but at least he fought his heart out and he actually went up in my opinion after that. Chavez just quit.

No comparison... At least Broner fought to the bitter end and didn't quit... Yeah, while Broner was much more arrogant, he made a strong effort and never gave up. Still due to the enormous arrogance of Broner and that he left the ring in an unsportsmanlike fashion Id say that was more humiliating defeat.

Broner's career was nearly not as easily handed to him the way Chavez was on a plate. The dude had a sanctioning body President backing him LOL. He invents his own weight divisions ffs. The way he was handed Martinez's belt was so pathetic. At least with Broner he has beaten some decent names: Rees (former World champ), DeMarco (for the LW title) and Malignaggi (WW title). Now that's not a murderer's row, but Chavez had to come in as a Cruiser for his punches to have an effect on Middleweights and out muscled them for the win.

Remember Frank Ducketts and all the other guys who claimed Broner was the next Floyd losing their sh*t after the fight :lol1: good times. I haven't seen the Jr. fight yet myself-- The degree of satisfaction with watching Broner get whacked was pretty high. People with eyes who though Broner a) Wasn't all that, and b) had up to a few dubious decisions, were pretty satisfied with the drubbing he got. In Jr's case, everybody knew he had potential but that he had a history of being unmotivated and fighting on his name. I think that's just less satisfying to see than the Broner scenario, even if quitting on your stool is worse.

How is the poll almost 50-50? Chavez quit, but even if he didn't he didn't win a round, also Broner's loss didn't end his career, Chavez is done (and dumb), he will get beat by most if not all top 168 (that is why Froch dreamed of fight Chavez in Vegas, he could have KO'd the hype job and rode off in the sunset).

This is like comparing apples to hamburgers. Chavez quit on his stool makes his fight worse alone. Broner despite getting his ass kicked actually showed a lot of heart, fighting back even though he had really no chance to win. Broner finished the fight strong, gained respect even though he lost, he was game, Chavez quit, imagine if Provodnikov would have quit last night (glad I watched HBO live).

Compared to the hype, Broner Yes, Chavez got beaten worse, but many people in here were hyping Broner as a P4P legend. He was the next Floyd and what not, and was doing the chicken dance by round 2 and tried to get Maidana DQ'd He fought though, because although he is not a future p4p great as him and his former fans envisioned, he is still a fighter. Chavez is not. He just moonlights in boxing. So Broner given the circumstances. There's a reason people in here laughed and gloated for months after Broner got spanked. Chavez jr is more of a shrug; it was long coming.

Bute had the stones to go to Froch's back yard and got finished on his feet if I recall(??) Could be wrong on that, but i'd defs put it below these two humblings. He didn't have stones for going to Froch's backyard he was over confident that he'd beat Froch so he took the fight in the UK and he and his team was in talks with networks for a Ward fight while the build up for Froch was going on showing his over confidence. Checks the list for me. Bute was humiliated and he was a proven hype job.

Serge was on top form before Chavez knocked him down. That was the exact moment that Sergio's prime ended. He may have had another year in him or more otherwise. He was already pushing it, already a nearly 40 year old, one handed fighter with poor knees. Its true that after Chavez his knee was even worse, but other than a flash KD in the 12 Martinez completely dominated pothead Jr. Father time got the best of Martinez, not Chavez, not Murray certainly not Cotto.
