In recent times I'd certainly have to put Mauricio Herrera up there I honestly believe he should have been a solid contender for fighter of the year. He should have been the lineal champ and after that setback he wins the interim title in a tough fight vs Perez and then gets it robbed away from him again against the younger more marketable prospect. Featherfisted yet he still outslugged Benavidez.:ugh1:
-Algieri being stripped was not fair on him.
-Tyson Fury Having three opponents consecutively pulling out costing him a £5mill pay day.
-I (non biased I swear lol) think Matthysse honestly outboxed Judah and Alexander.
This is the dark side of boxing I cant stand, any others you guys can think of?
Castillo robbed from being the next Chavez cause that victory against Mayweather would have made him more money and more respect but of course this sport is corrupt and favors black Americans
Emmanuel Burton/Augustus.
Dude is really the unluckiest that I can think of from the top of my head. This guy was robbed plenty of times in fights that he should had won like against Ward. He taken fights off a few nights notice and was only paid marbles or cotton balls. Not only did he take fights on extremely short notice but he was able to perform for 12 rounds, and give anyone that fought him a tough time. He did this without any type of stable management. Imagine if this guy had the right people around him.. He would had probably been great.
Videos provided of Mayweather speaking of the extreme underestimation of this guy. Floyd credits him as his toughest fight, and how his record didn't do justice to how skilled and tough he was.
Here is a highlight video of his style and unique skills:
Breidis Prescott. The guys forever on the end of b.s decisions and his loss to Avocado was almost heartbreaking.
he had it in the pocket, don't know how he lost that one
Ruben Guerrero 0-7
Fought 7 bums and still lost.... he had a combination of no skills + unluckiness. Face it... some of the worst fighters in history have atleast 1 or 2 wins in their resume.... this man has none.

Herrera for suffering blatant robberies and JM Marquez, who was either outright robbed or had close decision after close decision go against him. Moreso Herrera tho because JMM at least got a chance to be champ and make alota money, even tho he coulda made tons more. Pobrecito Herrera didn't get a chance to be champ and he's not making the money he should. That sucks immeasurably bad when you consider how long he, as all fighters, sacrifice for years to make it in this most brutal of all sports.
Lucas Matthysse at this moment and it's not even close.
He lost the judah fight.
Alexander fight was close I thought lucas won it tho slightly, but it was devons hometown and there were some swing rounds.
Then he got outboxed/dropped on the biggest boxing event in the past 10 years by danny garcia after begging for a fight with him and talking all this **** about him.
Damn....this must be the most unlucky fighter in history of boxing and its not even close...tsk tsk....
Mauricio Herrera was my first go-to answer when I read this. It's hard to dust yourself off from one horrific judging decision, but to have two happen in the same year? That's just life being cruel to the man.
Herrera and Malignaggi, imo, are the unluckiest fighters that come to mind right now, for the simple fact that genetics failed them. Both guys have come close to maxing out what they were born with, but it's left them a cut below the truly elite level.
Herrera can't punch; to even try and compete, he's maxed out using the trips/traps of the sport; only problem with that is that such a style leaves enough questions in the eye of the judges that it's difficult for him to win many nip/tuck rounds.
Malignaggi has brittle/damaged hands; his boxing mind is world-level and he's been schooled well enough in the gym to be a win world titles. You give him even half a punch and he might've been a really special fighter.
Lara cant get a decision to save his life also Herrera suffers from the same ailment, but it depends on what you mean by "unluckiest" You could say sh*t like what happened to Mago and Pwilliams was some pretty unlucky sh*t that trumps everything else.
David Haye, biggest fight of his career and he injured his toe.
Chris Algieri, again, the biggest fight of his career and the trainer misplaced the keys to his cage.
I need to watch the fights again because I might be mistaken, but it's possible that Vanes should have wins over Lara, Andrade, and Charlo. Kill yourself for that one tbh, other 2 you could be right about but charlo one I straight up had a draw.
