The Mercer fight because Wlad really beat the snot out of Ray. The Sanders fight because many believed that Wlad was done. The first Peter fight because Wlad was knocked down a couple of times and was still able to dominate. The Brock fight because it was actually a pretty good scrap until Wlad took him out. I was disappointed with the Haye fight but I still didn't believe it was as bad as most did. The Povetkin fight because Wlad's tactics really pissed me off and there really was no reason for them. And last the Pulev fight because Wlad showed how destructive he can be when he is pissed off. The fight I most want to see is Wlad's destruction of Tyson Fury.
The Sanders fight, that was pure poetry Larry Merchant was saying something like He is like a beautiful superman who is undistructable and just as he is done making the statement. Bam he gets hit. I remember jumping up and down in celebration almost hit the ceiling I was so happy.
The fight that sticks most in my head with Wladimir was the Lamon Brewster fight.
I was so hyped into Wlad and Vitali at that time, I was excited for Wlad to put on an awesome display and watching him fall to pieces against Brewster was shocking. When the fight was over, it made me realize just how wild boxing can be. I loved it more because of that! hahaha
Theres not much to remember he's easily the most boring heavyweight (boxer) since John Ruiz!!! Isn't exceptional at anything however is consistantly winning against the worst division in history.
Ray
Wlad vs Wach...never seen as much punching power unleashed on the near 300 pounder for 12 rnds ,using steroids or not ,he should've fell.
Yeah that was crazy. You could see and hear the damage of the punches. That guy must have neanderthal DNA in his family. Granite skull.
Sanders loss for sure... Someone said brock was best american HW? Lol! He narrowly beat jameel mccline & that was the only reason he got a title shot. That was brock's only meaningful win. Wlad has had a good career but it's a larry holmes career. Top 10 HW but no signature wins & too me the sanders loss will always stick out.
Honestly? And I'm not really hating, but the Sanders fight. Everything else is sort of murky........I think he fought Sam Peter and won.
David Haye. Everyone was big on Haye because they were desperate to remove Wlad from being a champion. Once the fight came Wlad outclassed him and they had to find a new way to hate on Wlad. Starting to see the same pattern with Wilder.
All of them. Only the Povetkin fight was a let down, the Haye fight too of sorts, as I expected him to KO Haye.
I think his final few fights could get memorable too. Jennings is next :boxing:
His destruction of monte Barrett and Chris Byrd come to mind. That was the best version of him, before he became tentative. The sanders fight as well because that was the catalyst to him changing his style.
Sanders is the top, that sucks for him, but that is what happens when you don't rematch and have your brother bail you out.
Lamon Brewster fight also.
His fights are pretty boring, probably not for his opponent, but as a fan I don't really look forward to his fights. The David Haye fight sucked.
Nobody he fought will even be in the HOF, so to say he had a easy title run could be an understatement.
Maybe Ibragimov....it was a big fight, unification, plenty of build up, he won decisively...but it was rather dull and uneventful, and he hasn't fought in the US since.
