I said with a pulse son. Boxrec really? Lol ok I will give it to you. 1 so far. Any more?
I like how you completely ignored sam soliman and jermaine taylor still being in the top ten at mw
I dont think they have trouble understanding it. I think most people, myself included, just have a heavy skepticism that as much as we would like the WBC to enforce the GGG mando, no matter what they say NOW there is no guarantee that they will actually do the right thing when the time comes. It wouldnt surprise me one bit if they came up with some nonsense to justify not stripping Cotto even if he refuses GGG next........
Exactly. If Cotto retains his WBC middleweight title and a Canelo fight is possible next, the WBC might think twice before ordering a Golovkin fight or stripping Cotto. Money talks and we are talking about the WBC after all. I cannot find any other reason why Cotto would want to keep his title. If the WBC decides to enforce the mandatory fight, he will probably vacate anyway.
It's funny that on one hand, peasants detract from Cotto's victory over Sergio, "he beat a washed up Middleweight," and yet expect the MW newcomer, to jump up to GGG. Cotto is smart and will fight a Heiland before he even thinks of testing this weight with a beast like GGG. He has to get acclimated to the weight. I do think Cotto will eventually fight GGG. Cotto is too proud win or lose.
You can flip the script: Cotto fans saying he legitimately beat Martinez and Sergio's legs were not an issue back then. But then they say it's ridiculous for Cotto to fight a full fledged MW in Golovkin. You get the idea.

Only way they would justify him not fighting GGG is if he fought Canelo.
Can't use it as a bargaining chip for Canelo or Floyd. If he gets by Heiland, he has to fight GGG or be stripped. If Heiland wins, he has to defend against GGG in his next fight. There are no ifs, ands or buts about it. I don't understand why some people have such trouble understanding this.

So when will someone make an announcement? We have this thread that seems to confirm Heiland and another about there being nothing decided between Heiland or maybe K9. I really wish those 'various sources' could get their crap together and make up their minds.
Heiland is definitely not a Top 10 middleweight, but at least he is a middleweight. Cotto probably wants to keep his WBC title as a bargaining chip for Canelo or Floyd.

Better than k9
true but who isnt?
To be frank i know nothing of Heiland. However i prefer that fight only because if cotto fights him then it indicates an intent to fight GGG. Or at a minimum an intent to stay at middleweight...
So according to you, sam soliman > heiland, did you know jermaine taylor is still listed in the top ten too?
And when did I say I dont want cotto to fight ggg?
And since you wanna :crying: some more about "finding" somewhere, where he is listed top ten thats not a belt organization

Cotto is the world middleweight champion, so it is not unreasonable to expect him to fight the best middleweights. We can't pretend that he is a 19 y/o prospect with a dozen fights. If the title is too much of a burden for him he should drop it.
this. Cotto was never known to be a ducker. yet they criticize him 24/7
This is just the Canelo fans hoping Canelo get' a win over another star and the GGG fans hoping for a GGG PPV crowning at Cotto's expense. And then there are those simple minded folks who get a kick out of pissing the Cotto fans off.
Remember when Cotto fan boys said Canelo is fighting a non ranked Jr Middle? Hilarious now that Cotto will face a non ranked MW. :lol1: The spin will be strong.
YEah of course.... Pull out from negotiations to fight Kirkland

No he's not. Like I said, belt organization he may be but not anywhere else.
I'd rather have him fight someone with a pulse that is top 10. You know, the same standards I and many true boxing fans have for all the top guys in their division.
I don't really dislike Cotto. I dislike fan boys. Specially fan boys that change their thoughts once their favorite boxer does what they criticized.

Besides the belt organization(s), find me some other places where he's rated top10. Ty and have a nice day.
You didn't answer my question. Who's rankings do you think are valid? Some Internet blog? Some other fan site?
The flaw in your post is that this implied "bias," can be found with ANY culture. Don't expect to see to many "sober" opinions on Canelo, Margarito or Rios from our Mexican friends. To kid yourself that bias is something only Ricans practice is akin to liberals thinking it's just the republicans that "lie..." The hypocrisy is pure comedy.
I find most people are incapable of seeing their own bias. They legitimize their bias so that it's easy to swallow but we see it too.
I agree with all of this ^^^ except the liberals reference lol.
