GGG has reiterated his desire to fight at 154lbs against the Mayweather/Pacquiao winner.
The Pacquiao fight is unlikely because Pacquiao is tiny at 147lbs and ruled himself out at fighting any higher.
But Floyd still a double title holder at 154lbs division and the lineal title holder is a realistic prospect.
GGG says he is small guy and can easily do the weight.
He has also found it hard to secure unification fights with Quillin and Cotto.
Would you want to see Mayweather vs GGG, regardless if Floyd wins or loses against Pacquiao.
GGG was dwarfed in the ring by Murray, and Super-middle looks very far away, would fights at 154lbs against Floyd be good for GGG instead of waiting around for a unification fight at middle.
To all the idiots around here with reading comprehension problems...
Find me one quote or video or article that states that GGG came out and said "I want to fight Mayweather" instead of answering a question asked by a reporter whether or not he would be interested in such a fight. Very simple thing. If you cannot find such a quote or video then STFU and stop pretending that this is what GGG said when he actually said no such thing. I am amazed at the number of ignorant people around here and understand why they are boxing fans. They simply are not intelligent enough to understand the intricacies of any other sport. Boxing is very simple to understand and very suited to their limited intellects.
Check the Proska post fight interview.
Does that make you an idiot for not knowing this?
You say that like GGG is a natural 154, he's coming down in weight to fight a WW who holds a 154 title. . . Nothing wrong with it in theory, but just think about it for a minute.
Nobody else in 160 is challenging the 154. . . Bar Cotto who fights at that weight. Yes defend it, but ideally against other JMWs, I'm not saying if GGG is willing to come down it shouldn't be arranged to fight. . . Ofcourse it should, but there's a slightly questionable principle about the whole thing. It's not like it's Canelo who owns it who is already too big for JMW.
People were saying on here the other day the GGG is too small to fight Kovelav.
GGG can go down to Floyd's weight and fight him. Kovalev could not go down to GGG weight and fight him.
Those are just the facts. Hell Ward couldn't even go down to GGG weight and fight him.
If Ward called out GGG and said I would come down to 160lbs to fight you, even though he has not fought at that weight, GGG would have to take that challenge.
Same should go for Floyd.

I like both GGG and Mayweather. And think that this fight can be made at 154. Still even at this weight I would slightly favor Golovkin. He has much less wear and tear on his body. Floyd is a talented fighter, but such fight could be taken by naturally smaller guy only out of pride or for enormous money. If it goes wrong and Golovkin starts to connect, then Mayweather will be ruined. Still I would respect Floyd even if he meets GGG at 154. If Floyd goes to 160 against GGG, it will be a stuff of legend. Worthy of mentioning alongside SRR-Maxim and SRL-Hagler. But I doubt it will happen. Although even a loss in such fight will elevate Floyd's status...Nobody holds it against SRR that he lost to Maxim....
It is quite simple for me.
If you are a champ at the weight, be prepared to defend against the best or you are a paper champ.
That goes for every world champion

If Cotto fights GGG it wont be at 160. Middle weight is from 155-160. realistically, the fight would be made around 156.
GGG fans think GGG is a boxing god but when this dude steps up and fights an elite fighter, he'll be in big trouble. Once that power of his isn't working, then what? If he drops down to 154, Floyd would box circles around him and the haters will just say GGG was drained, that fight would make no sense.
This ^^^^
That fight makes no sense. GGG FLoyd at 154 is a lose lose situation for Floyd. If he loses haters will say he was never that good. If he wins haters will say GGG was drained and Floyd was too chicken to fight him at 160lbs. The only way for Floyd to get credit would be to move up at 160lbs, but GGG would be so huge the only way to win would be to stay on the outside and potshot his way to a UD, and then again the haters would say he was a coward and didgnt go toe-to-toe.
This fight just doesnt make any sense.

==========
If the fight is for MW belt, it should be held at MW limit. Of course both fighters can come in at any weight below. But to be considered a MW champion one can't enforce additional weight limits on his opponent. Otherwise it is just a catchweight and has no bearing on who is the champion in the traditional division.
None of his fans deny that he wants a good payday to take any fight outside of his own division. In fact we have been trying to get the idiots around here to understand that for ages. This is exactly why he has little interest in a Ward fight, there is no money to make it worth the effort to fight at a higher weight class.
Nice to see that you have finally understood what many people have posted hundreds if not thousands of time on this and other boards. You can sleep better tonight now that you have finally learned something new to you. Your mother will be proud.
By the way... he wants Cotto from 160, not 154. Cotto holds a MW title and he should either defend it or vacate it.

GGG will have a hard time chasing the chicken....it'll be like Lil Ze chasing a chicken!

lol here we go again. One guy is a 5 division champ, he moved up many times to fight guys 15 to 20 poounds heavier than him. Beat a top 10 p4p undefeated in Corrales, beat #2 pfp in Marquez, #3 p4p in Mosley. Beat an undefeated Hatton and undefeated Alvarez (moved up in weight). Is going to fight the #2 p4p and atg in Pacquiao. This guy is a running chicken.
Now you have a one division 30 something champion who said would beat anybody from 168lbs and below but then refuse to fight Ward, call guys two division lower to get a huge payday, and this guy is a hero and a warrior.
Only on boxingscene.
Once, if Floyd beats Pac, he needs tofight GGG at 160, none of this 154 business.
He needs to improve on beating a great little man like Pac, he needs a great big man now.
lol like he needed Cotto, Mosley and DLH back in the time so you would consider him an atg with the ALI and Robinson. (see my sig)
Get out of here, you have no credibility.

I've downloaded Golovkin-Murray today and watched it. Golovkin looked considerably smaller than Murray. At the weigh-in GGG was at 158.9, so he IS not a big guy - absolutely truthful statement. Second observation - Murray is a very strong guy - possibly the second best middleweight. His supposed lack of punching power could have something to do with two debilitating body punches he endured in the 4th round. Guys tend to lose steam after being punched in the gut so brutally.

Agreed completely.
He wants Mayweather, Cotto, Canelo from 154. At 168 he only shows interest in Chavez Jr. Clearly just wants big money fights. It's okay, but his fans won't admit it. I have no problem with a fighter just wanting money, pro boxing is a tough job and i'm not letting anyone punch me in my face for a living unless i'm making 100s of thousands of dollars or millions either. So I get it, but his fans portray him as something else. What GGG and his team want (lots of money), is okay, what his fans are saying about him is a lie.

Martinez and GGG are small middles, and can make 154lbs that is why.
The reason Maywether and not Pacquiao, simple Floyd fights at 154lbs, double and lineal title holder, Pacquiao doesn't
GGG a small middleweight? I've heard it all now! Lol
Yes and then he proceeded to turn pro at 160 lbs. He fought at LHW in the Olympics to give Andre Dirrell a chance to compete in the Olympics. Ward doesn't win fights based on size, he wins based on skill.
Ward and Golovkin are the same size, just check their fight night weights. Golovkin isn't brave. He isn't looking to set the boxing world ablaze. He just wants easy fights for big money against blown up WWs and JMWs. He doesn't have a bone of greatness in his body. He isn't old school. He's new school. All about the money. Dollar dollar bill y'all.

Because the Olympics is same day way in. Ward thought he could pick up an easy title at MW before moving up. Then he fought Darnell Boone and changed his mind real quick.
Ward and Golovkin are the same size
You're not suggesting that Ward could make 154, are you?

So you're saying that Floyd at 154 would be an easy fight for Golovkin? Because that makes it sound like DLH and Canelo were cherry picks.
The Linear MW champ won't fight GGG so he tells a reporter he'll fight the Linear JMW champ without even begging for a CW like Floyd did with Canelo. There isn't a Linear SMW because Ward was stripped.

You're an idiot. None of the guys you support have had as rough a ride. Not long before he got on HBO he was fighting for peanuts in Panama. Never fights in his hometown, and gives the best deal percentage wise of any A side champ. Dominates a division, yet his career high is less than Bertos for Freddy Hernandez. Offered to go up and fight #1 Smw p4p Froch in his hometown. Ward won't even do that, much less go up and fight LHW p4per in that guys home town
