Both are entertaining fighters and I look forward to this match. But in a way, I predict a sad conclusion. Both are hardhitting and dangerous and the loser will probably have taken enough of a beating to never be the same fighter again. What's more, if Provodnikov loses, his record will be 24 wins, 4 losses. That's sadly enough of a loss percentage for him to lose any relevance among many fans. I think a loss would hurt Provodnikov more than it hurts Matthysse. What are your thoughts? Is there any place left in boxing for the loser of this fight?
Those guys don't compare to Prov. Not even close. Soto went from very good to average the more he moved up in weight. Prov will knock Matthysse out and lose to Rios in August.
Matthysse is a decent boxer. He still gets hit plenty. everyone he faces tags him. Prov will be too much.
provo gets hit way more, and you can't let matthysse uses you as target practice, the fight is tough for both.
Lucas is my favourite fighter due to his old school values and approach. Win or lose, He always brings it and has displayed a lot of heart.
I'm not a fan of 24/7 or face 2 face type programs, I miss the days when fighters had an air of mystery and Lucas is a throwback to that in some ways.
Anyway, back on topic :boxing: They will both be in top shape physically, which limits the amount of progressive damage for a while. Both have a good chin and power. They also have a similar style, but I would argue that Lucas has the better overall skills..... I can't wait.
Matthysse via TKO round 7-10, but it could end with a single punch from either.
I don't care about these points. I bet real money. Not to say Matthysse doesn't have power, Soto's power isn't that impressive at the weight though.
No problem if you don't wanna, just wanted to give you a chance to double your points.

Soto is 22-1 in his last 23 and chin wise he is up there. Didn't blink at Molina's best shots, Molina might be awful but he has power. And we will have to see the outcome, bet 7 mill on Provodnikov and Ill bet 7 mill for Matthysse?
Exactly. Humberto Soto had never been down before fighting Lucas and neither had Ajose. Matthysse loves a good iron chin.

Neither Matthysse or Provodnikov are "great" fighters, but they're more-than-okay fighters who are entertaining to watch. They're better than Gatti/Ward.What has Ruslan done to prove that he is above the quality of those guys so far in his brief career? You are also contradicting yourself in the previous post you indicated that you weren't interested in the Gatti/Ward trilogy because they weren't great fighters,so is it only great fighters you watch or is it simply "more than okay fighters"
Then I guess you want be watching this fight either since Ruslan obviously isn't a "great fighter".

Another thing that could factor in is Matthysse has a reach advantage, against Molina jr and Garcia he woz giving away height and/or reach advantage so he'l be more likely to stay out of range.
I only watch quality boxing. Gatti/Ward was probably an entertaining saga of battles, but neither of them were great fighters. Then I guess you want be watching this fight either since Ruslan obviously isn't a "great fighter".
Ur missing my point mate...Matthysse hits like a mule, way harder than Algerie and Bradley......

Exactly what came to mind,he should put his tissues away, watch some Gatti/Ward and man the phuck up.

What a pu ssy the OP. This is boxing. Hundreds of fights have been at this before... Stfu I hate it when people are scared(because that's what you are, scared) for them. Let them go to war and give us what pac vs may won't be, an entertaining fightExactly what came to mind,he should put his tissues away, watch some Gatti/Ward and man the phuck up.

That's quite a personal post, bro. I like both fighters.
This fight is gonna be alot easier for Lucas then you guys think, Ruslan head is gonna swole up to pumpkin size within the first 2 rounds and he getting stopped in the 4th.
Matthysse's team have said that they won't trade with Ruslan but outbox him instead. They said Ruslan is like "Ivan drago from rocky" and also said Matthyse is an underrated boxer

Worth every dime.. It doesnt need any undercards. Fighters like provo and da machine, win-lose is not an issue fans will still pay them. They are what boxing needs not those runners who run 12'rounds/36minutes inside the ring!
