I think Rios would uppercut Porter repeatedly when he comes rushing in ..until he eventually gets hurt and gets knock down. Porter surely won't knock Rios out. I just think his bulldozing would work in Rios favor.
Porter-Chaves would be close. I think Chaves is physical enough to keep Porter restrained.
Guerrero would be a grind out match. Not sure how to call this one.
What do you think?
We can also add Maidana to this mix...since IMO, Maidana is grouped with these fighters.
Porter-Maidana...I favor Maidana with 1 knockdown,..win by decision.
he outboxes rios easliy, stops guererro, chavez is a very tight 50 50 fight that goes to scorecards with Chavez giving bim nightmares mayeb not enough to win
Porter is too much man for all those guys, I think he is able to bully them all and none of them are good enough to make a fight with Porter easy.
So yea he can and probably would.
Rios/Porter would make for great television imo. That would be a complete fire-fight. Guerrero/Porter could be entertaining too, not sure how much fun Chaves/Porter would be though.
I've watched Porter last night -- he misses too many punches... Far too many...
(Brook set the blueprint of beating Porter... Hold him all night long)...
Lol, he would beat Rios easily. Punching power is about equal but Porter semmingly a lot stronger physically. And his speed is classes above Rios'. Rios wouldn't stand much chance against him.
Guerrero --> that would be a wr but becaus his suprerior speed I give the edge to Porter.
Chavez can be a very difficult fight to Porter. That guy is very tough, can fight on the inside and he has an awkward jab. Not sure who would win but I give the edge to Porter against them.
All of them has solid chin, all of them are rugged but the difference is Porter much stronger than any of them and he is also probably faster than them.
Yes, yes, and yes.
Brook beat him by keeping his distance and pot shotting him, and holding him to neutralize his wild attack. That won't be any of the strategies by the guys mentioned by TS.
Porter is ridiculously underrated on this forum. The guy can fight.
I'd pick him to beat Maidana, Guerrero, Chaves and Rios. I think Chaves and Guerrero would have the best chance of beating him because they can be crafty and box, especially Chaves. Porter would box Rios and easily outpoint him. He would outwork Maidana as well I think.
I would rate Maidana the best of all those fighters. If Rios retains the form he showed in his last fight I would rate him second. Porter would rate third and I think he would beat Guerrero and Chaves. Porter hits very hard and he takes a good punch and he is strong. He has good speed as well. I think Porter is a good welterweight but Thurman, Rios, Bradley and Maidana would all probably edge him out in close fights.
Porter beats all of them. If he loses to one of them, It would be Guerrero.
why coz he fought Floyd?...guerrero gets manhandled in this one....porter's stronger on the inside and power prolly just about even...just my 2c
Porter vs Guerrero would be fun because Guerrero would give him the inside fight he is looking for and I think Guerrero would kick his ass inside to the point in which Porter would spend most of the fight Hugging and holding on
Rios can also bang inside as well, I think he can OUTWORK Porter
Chaves is 50/50
Sorry but Porter NEVER IMPRESSED ME, got exposed vs Diaz the first fight and was saved with a DRAW, he did not come back BETTER he came back PHYSICALLY STRONGER! If you can fight inside vs Porter and push him around and use his own tactics against him like Kell Brook did, you beat him easily!
I have no ****in clue how Alexander got killed by this guy. He's so easy to hit and telegraphs every punch. These are all toss ups because these guys have similar smothering styles. Thurman's smokes him though.
Motivation and taking Porter lightly is what did Alexander in.
As for a fight against the three listed I give him a good chance to beat Chaves who has been stopped before but can crack.
Rios would be the most dangerous opponent. Porter wouldn't been able to wade in like he did against Boone. And on the inside Rio will light him up.
Guerrero vs Porter is 50/50. Porter is very big and strong and being a former Featherweight won't help Guerrero who has been getting overwhelmed against bigger fighters lately.
But if the Guerrero that fought Berto shows up I would definitely favor him.
Yea, I didn't bother mentioning Thurman... because I think it's clear that Thurman would beat him and most likely by KO.
Just thought I'd bring up Chaves, Rios, Guerrero, and Maidana because I think they're interesting fights for Porter.
Me too, I can actually see them making Guerrero vs porter.
people tried to hype porter up after beating up pillow hands lol i knew it wouldnt last long. brook showed he to beat him, and i dont see porter getting a title shot any time soon
