Rios vs maidana @ 147 who wins and why

He hasn't beat anyone at 147, but in terms of style he struggles against crafty fighters, not guys like Maidana. Maidana can't box like Chaves, Abril, Pacquiao etc. Rios takes a better shot than Maidana and in fights like this, that's the first thing I look at. This would be a toe to toe war and Rios does cleaner inside work than Maidana, is bigger and would back Maidana up. Maidana can't box. He has developed a semi-decent jab recently, but even that's overrated. Rios isn't a huge puncher but he can definitely hurt you and wear you down. He's a very good body puncher, which is a problem for Maidana. And I'm not sure Maidana can hurt Rios. mike alvarado is a crafty fighter and maidana can't box. :dunce:

Is Maidana planning on ever fighting again? Early to mid 2016 is my guess. He is fat as hell right now so I don't seeing him fighting in 2015. If he does fight in 2015 it better be against a laudromat worker otherwise he will have a life-or-death type of fight the same way Chris Arreola does when he is out of shape.

Well Maidana himself admitted that Jesisto Lopez almost Koed him, that if Lopez didn't back down when Maidana was badly hurt, he would've stopped him. But Lopez backed off for some reason, perhaps, he thought it is better to not go for it, and just box. And Maidana was down multiple times against Ortiz, too. He doesn't really fight any big punchers Maidana, while Rios has proven his chin is rock solid. An impossible fight to call, but perhaps Rios would destroy Maidana. Rios is a lot more awkward that people realise, and he could just get on the inside and beat the crap out of Maidana, Ko him within a few rounds. Fight will never happen obviously, same trainer, and different promo firms, plus neither of them would ever take it anyway. Rios ducked Ruslan. And like I said Maidana doesn't fight big punchers, and is a bit of a cherry picker, even backing out of an agreed fight with Tim Bradley like a coward.

Maidana beats him easily, Maidana's boxing skills are WAY better than Rios' also Maidana is a big strong Welterweight, Rios has never looked impressive at welterweight except against Alvarado who's a C level fighter that didn't come to fight. Maidana can Jab, move his head, get inside low under your punches, mix it up up and down, feint upstairs and down stairs and throw punches from different angles, and if he uses his strength on the inside Rios won't be able to handle it cuz he's not physically strong enough. If Rios could go to the body and fight a smart fight which is virtually impossible for him cuz he doesn't have the skills, but if he does manage to take Maidana to deep waters while hammering on Maidana's body he has a good chance cuz he has good stamina and will and Maidana doesn't take it well to the body, Maidana has also been known for having a sh1tty stamina, but Rios isn't known for his body attack either, so I'd bet a 1000 on Maidana without any worries!

Rios would be too brave and dumb for his own good; the bigger stronger warrior Maidana would knock him out.

Rios has the edge at very close range exchanges. He is a master at that. Maidana needs to keep just a little distance between them to do his best work.
