I'm a all for women's rights but I find it pretty difficult to watch women try knock seven bells outta each other. Do you guys think it'll ever get popular? I only know Ann Wolfe and Laila Ali lol
Professional sports is dependent on marketable stars. You get somebody like Ronda Rousey in boxing the popularity will follow.
You need a hot girl with GGG skills and power.
I wonder the same about WMMA, although its doing alright with a girl like Ronda. It's still largely treated as a science experiment and most fans of MMA don't take it very seriously at all... not to mention the striking is ATROCIOUS. If Rousey wasn't around though WMMA would be limited to Bellator and Invicta.
I don't think I've ever actually seen a live Female Boxing match before.
The only female sport I can think of that does reasonably well as far as I know is Tennis.
I watched one a few months back. Heavyweight.... there was like 90lb difference between the two!!!
Fatty was getting outboxed then landed and finished lol

idk i love watching the girl fighters they fight harder than the dudes som, time maybe not mainstream but they are popular to some of those hard core fans i respect the **** out of them

It gets treated like irrelevant gargabe so no. Sad how wmma blew right pass women's boxing in like 2-3 yrs.
Women's boxing would take off if women supported it.
When you think about it. There are more women in this world than men. If they wanted to fill an arena or stadium and watch women's boxing they could.
Women talk about how men don't support them, but they don't support eachother.
Here in Ireland we have the best women's amature boxer in the world. Katy Taylor is a 5 time world champion and Olympic gold medalist. She spars with men's bantamweight boxers and beats them down. She would probably beat allot of the pro men in the lower weights right now
cecilia braekhus is an amazing fighter but she's overseas and usa doesn't have her on any of their networks. i think one of the german promoters has her. she's always on posters so they push her over there. i'd love to see her fights here but there's youtube. she's undefeated, a real talent at WW. Its too bad. I'd bang her.
The Coal Miner's Daughter was the only woman besides Laila Ali and Jackie Frazier(for one fight) who has made anything close to a man's purse. The depth of woman's boxing is abysmal. Until the depth is improved the purses will be paltry.
boxing is hard enough to follow as a hardcore fan.
doubt women as fans even get more involved. not to put women down, but I doubt a mass audience of women would come out to support women fighting each other. they can stick to watching basketball and football.. at least the objective is based around the ball.
the only women i know who can analyze boxing are actual amateur boxers.
no, pretty much for the same reason really light mens divisions usually play second fiddle, you know youre seeing 2 people an average guy might be able to beat up, it just takes the epicness away
