He was obviously there to collect the paycheck and all he did in his training camp was get drunk and do drugs. He looked like he had not trained at all for the fight, as a boxing fan that was a disgrace to the sport!!!
Then on the post fight interview he looked like he was on drugs, pathetic.
He was undertrained, undermotivated, and going through his own personal bull****. You ever heard people say "If it wasn't for boxing I would be in jail or dead" Alvarado is still BARELY avoiding both WITH boxing. Imagine where he would be without it.
HBO & TR knew Alvarado was done before this fight was ever made. He had like 5 wars in a row going into this fight with Marquez, Provodnikov, Rios 2x, and Presscott.
This fight was all about salvaging the career of Brandon Rios, Mike earned his money now let the guy retire. I hope he makes the most out of the money and lives a peaceful life, even if it seems unlikely.

Negroid YO azz wasnt in the ring getting the shiat beat of you. He DID train he just made excuse for why he was outclassed. Rios has completely changed to an ELITE fighter.
The speed, defense, roll counters, inside fighting, head movement. Its nothing Mike could have done except QUIT. I nor You, would have stayed 12 rounds for more of that whippin!
Did anybody see that guy next to Alvarado's dad in the crowd? While Mike's family looked all sad and upset, this guy, I assume could be Mike's drug buddy, was all happy, rubbing his fingers together saying something like "It's all for the money!". Weird.
Just seen the fight Rios looked good if he fought like that more often using angles, head movement I probably wouldn't call him a punchbag.
Alvarado looked terrible he needs his licensed stripped or to retire. He barely threw a punch, he looked fat and seemed to me to exaggerating every shot Rios landed. I feel bad for the paying costumer then again this fight should not of been made in the first place. The kids clearly got a drug problem and most likely a drink problem too. I question whether he really trained for the fight or not.
Looks to me like hes been out binging and just cut weight to collect a paycheque.
I was hoping to see a great performance by Rios, instead I was actually sad because it looked more like a problem with Alvarado rather than Rios performance. I felt bad for Alvarado.

And every shot he got hit with seemed to effect him a lot more than usual. This dude is done.
He has had nothing but wars. Rios x 2, provo and marquez then rios again.
even after the UD win over rios he looked like the loser.

Prov is one of the most hardest hitting pressure fighters from 140-154, Alvarado took a long beating from him and even hit him with some very hard shots. He also gave it his all against Marquez. Was in great shape for both fights as well. For this fight you could see no muscle, just fat everywhere, and he was not throwing from the very start. Look at his flabby chest and he almost has a little bit of love handles popping out. I would like to know what happened to him in training camp other than the legal troubles.
Are you kidding me, ts? So should we put you in a ring with a pro fighter and let them hit you with the kitchen sink for 9 minutes? You would be okay doing that for free?
Just saw the fight now. I noticed Alvarado was relatively fat. He gave a much better effort against Provodnikov who is a much harder hitter, and Marquez who is a much smart boxer. There was definitely something visibly wrong with him. Looked chubby and unprepared.

Not seen the fight but heard he quit again and it doesn't surprise me. He shouldn't even be allowed a license to fight he clearly has drug problems. You only have to look at him to see that, he looks like death.
It was pretty bad. He done nothing to return fire......for a second there he threw them shadow boxing punches.....lol
didn't really get him to far....
there is already a vid on youtube of the full fight.....
random language though

At the end of the day any one of us would prob of done the same....
if you had drug issues, jail issues and a family you to would want to make 700k to fight some dude.
deep down he prob knew he was going to blow it with or without the fight.
So why not take it whilst it's there.
But in a way i do agree with OP.
We can't be sure Alvarado knew he would lose or just how bad his training was. It's hard to measure when you're officially shot.
It was nowhere near as bad as Martinez coming in while healing from a knee surgery not even cleared to spar yet. He factually knew he had no chance and just needed to play the part for a few rounds.
