Wilder just like every other football turned fighter lacks the chin and stamina to ever be an elite fighter
You can say the same thing about Wladimir Klitschko lol, you can say the same thing about many fighters. Wilder was going to play either basketball/football, his cardio would've been top notch.
I already explained the lack of "chin". Guys that enter boxing late generally have this problem, Kovalev, Stevenson are two prime examples. Even when guys do lack a chin they have skills to protect them, Kovalev/Stevenson's offense is their defense, Wladimir uses all sorts of illegal moves/pushes/grabbing etc., some guys use footwork, others head/waist movement etc. all these things would be possible for an athletic person because they have fast twitch muscle fibers throughout their body.
We've also seen numerous fighters tire, look no further than the HW division, guys can't make it halfway without breathing hard lol. Wlad even punched himself out against Brewster.
Wilder can't even throw a proper jab lol, look at how far his raw athleticism has taken him. His power isn't special, it's the result of his long ass arms in combo with fast twitch muscle fibers, which practically every athletic big man has. Don't think of guys like Grant, Wach, Valuev, Ustinov, Helenius, etc. they're big but they are not athletes. They're incredibly slow, an athlete moves like a smaller man.
It depends on fighting experience of the NFL/NBA in question, if they can wrestle the small boxer is in trouble. Size matters in that instance. e.g Shaq would beat Floyd's ass, he would grab hold of him and throw him on the floor.
Nobody has ever said you can pull them straight out of these pro sports and expect them to be successful, that's what I always see people that don't agree with this repeating over and over again, despite nobody saying it.
Athleticism and size means you're loaded with fast twitch muscle fibers, athletes are capable of "learning" sports incredibly fast, they pick things up faster than the average joe and perfect them sooner. They have "natural" ability.
Just look at Klitschko, he's by far one of the most athletic boxers out there, it's not a coincidence. Wilder went from the football field, to dropping pros 2 months into learning to box, to an Olympic medal with just 15 or so amateur fights in 1 1/2 years, to a HW title shot.
His athleticism, those fast twitch muscle fibers in combination with size are responsible for his power, it's nothing special because guys like him are a dime a dozen in football/basketball. Wilder can't even properly throw a jab lol. The problem is getting those guys to box before they commit their lives to those sports. Sometimes we see them start late, but like most boxers that start late they lack the basic fundamentals on offense and defense. Which hurts them even more is they're not conditioned to take punches like their counterparts that have been punched their whole lives and often get KO'd.
RJJ, Klitschko bros, Holyfield, Tyson, etc. these guys are all athletes.

Americans are WAY too hung up over "athleticism" and size. They are factors in a fight but so is experience and actually fcking training to fight.
Justan example but as a young (16) 120lb amateur boxer i touched up plenty of big dudes, some probably weighing around 200-220 in the gym. And Ive beat up some bigger guys on the street too. Just think what a world calibre pro can do.

Basketball players can't even manage to beat up each other. Basketball players are vaginas in fights. Not seen too many football player fights but they do seem to murder a lot of people these days.
NO he wouldn't rofl. There is a certain weight limit to all this. You need to be walking around at at least 160+ to do this. You can't seriously expect someone walking at 135 walk around weight to KO a 260 pound NFL player. That's retarded.
You think Rigo can KO Prime Ben Wallace?
Lennox Lewis can because Lewis is freaking 240+ pounds.
LMAO you think just because you're 260 pounds it means you can take a punch?
Any top 10 bantamweight would beat the living hell out of Patrick Willis. Whether Willis gets knocked out or just has his face beaten to a bloody pulp and goes down due to exhaustion is irrelevant
90% of NFL "athletes" are 300lbs bodybuilders who are juiced to the gills and couldn't run a mile without stopping to catch their breath.
Maybe linemen but not running backs or corners or wide receivers.
tyson alone would clean out the entire NFL/NBA roster by himself. im talking tyson NOW, let alone prime/active mike.
lennox would do the same. how is this even a discussion? i agree that NFL/NBA players are elite athletes (some of them) and that size matters to an extent, but we are talking about lennox lewis and mike ****in tyson here, not uchiyama. all it would take is 1 punch, even if it doesnt land completely flush and even if its to the body and the NBA/NFL players would get dropped. tyson would shatter a lot of those glass chins with just jabs alone.
if they decided to throw a punch back i have no doubt in my mind the world class heavy weight boxer would eat the punch quite easily. dont forget, aside from being conditioned their life to THROW punches, they have also done thousands of rounds of sparring/fighting throughout their career and are conditioned to TAKE a punch as well. the NFL/NBA roster would only piss them off. the fight wouldnt last long at all.
arturo gatti beat the **** out of a average joe who was much bigger than him. well when it comes to fighting, nba/nfl players are just big average joes. tyson and lennox would decimate everyone.
well they arent lying. most football players can't fight
Urlacher tried to pick a fight with Bas Rutten at a charity event, then turned apologetic after it was made known to him exactly who Bas is. I can only imagine that the roided out NFLers have such shrunken testicles that it makes them so insecure to actually pick fights at charity events.
I think the limit is 160 pounds. I would pick any Middle Weight or above top level fighter throughout history to beat up any NFL Player through out history. But going down to welter? That's now dependent on the fighter. Guys like Felix Trinidad/Oscar/Leonard(tall guys with big frames) can probably KO Ray Lewis or JJ Watts. But a Tim Bradley vs a Dwight Howard? Come on rofl.
My nephew who was 16 won the 110 pound JO National title in 2009 knock out a 200 pound muscle head black dude he came at him cause he seen a small skinny white dude and bam he was clocked charging him. When he awoke it must have been a nightmare to get the phuck knock out by a little white looking dude
A 110 pound boxer knocking out some 200 pound(not even that big) gym rat is very very different from you saying some 122 pound boxer can knock out any trained athlete in the NBA/NFL.
First off.........say let's pick Prime Ben Wallace. Guy was basically a 6'10 Lebron James with more muscles, 10 times the heart, and more strength. You saying some 122 pound guy, let's use Rigo can knock out Prime Ben Wallace? That's absurd. Wallace wouldn't even feel Rigo's punches. I'm not saying these NFL/NBA guys stand a chance even against someone like a 5'10 210 pound young Joe Frazier. Even a 210 pound young Frazier would utterly destroy any NFL/NBA player. But you going as low as 122 is stretching it. It's just not mathematically possible.
That Bruce Lee shyt is for martial arts. Not boxing.
122 Rigo would probably win a 12-0 decision against Ben Wallace or something, but no way he's knocking out Wallace or a Prime Shaq.

exactly...just a stupid question....tyson and lewis wouldnt score a damn point against jordan in basketball nor get far playing against ray lewis in football
except Lennox Lewis was ranked in the top 5 of both sports when he was in high school.
Basketball:
North America: #4 Lennox Lewis Junior 6'5 Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute
Position: Small Forward
and a year later when he decided to go to 'football'.
'Football'
North America: #2 Lennox Lewis Senior 6'5 Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute.
Position: WR

who would win in a fight?

Pacquiao at 122 would Ko 75% of the NFL so would have Wilferdo Gomez Ruben Olivares

Nobody knows how to fight, that's what most people don't realize. You and I, we know what a punch looks like because we're boxing fans, we see, mimic. If not you, maybe your parents who are boxing fans showed you, a relative etc. But if you're not a boxing fan, you don't watch pro fighting consistently, you're probably going to punch like a girl, because humans were not meant to punch. Punching is an unnatural movement, it was "invented".
All of our favorite boxers from Ali, to Tyson, to Klitschko were like this in the beginning of their training lol, they didn't start off as some sort of beast.
There has actually been studies that determined the shape of the human skull and jawline is a result of us punching each other and fighting over millennia. Our skulls evolved into the shape it is today because of fighting.
We are a warrior species, it's in our DNA. I'm not saying anyone can do it, but as a species we evolved with fighting being a factor in our skeletal development.
Boxer vs basketball player... Of course the guy who is a professional fighter will win. Same thing vs a football player. A boxer would fvck them up.
Not really. Lennox Lewis in his prime would because that dude is massive. He's like 6'5 and 245 pounds. He's actually bigger than half the NFL.
But to say someone like Rigo would beat Ray Lewis is absurd.
