The mayweather that beat corrales I believe will beat anyone in the history. If you look at that fight and listen to what Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley are saying. They were comparing him to Sugar Ray robinson and Leonard. The current Floyd I believe is beatable tho. He cant move as quick as he use to and stays in the pocket too long.
the duran that beat SRL in Montreal beats Mayweather silly. Not even close. Mayweather calls himself TBE--he's not even the best WW of all time. I don't even think he beats prime Mosley. I can think of at least 7 welterweights in their prime who would beat Money.
This Mayweather thing is a litmus test on who follows boxing and who is a fanboy
You guys are just last weekend fans,
Literally. Admit it. You have no concept of who Floyd was prior to fighting Oscar De La Hoya.
9/10 of you.
That was without a doubt his finest win.
It's not even open for debate

But a somewhat faded Castillo already beat that version of Mayweather, so how can he be invincible?
Its a daft enough thread without you adding to the absurdity of it. That was the best version of Castillo ever. In his prime, and at his peak, so don't be such a ****ing idiot.
so lemme get this right..
mayweather looked his best against corrales, whose best win was angel manfredy? corrales, the same guy that lost to casamayor twice? corrales, the guy who was in la la land when he let a 130-lb floyd tap that chin 6 times?
i guess so..
Hilarious...yet if anyone points out all the issues that Cotto had b4 the Pac fight, they are somehow completely invalid.
You mean what Cotto said at the weigh in? "I'm too big and strong for Manny". You are right that was hilarious when you think about how Manny defeated him.
Or was it what Cotto said after the fight? "Why did I lose? I couldn't see Manny's punches. He was too fast"
.
Whilst true didn't he hire Ariza prior and stay at 130 for years when he went on to beat Freitas?
Not sure how people can discredit Floyd saying he was drained really when Corrales stayed at the weight and picked up some of his best wins.
No by then Diego moved up to 135. He was above 130 until he got a chance to fight for the title against Casamayor and took the chance. Same reason as what happened with Floyd. Diego had said that he wasn't going back down to 130 unless it was against Floyd for the title.
Against Casamayor Diego went down (knocked down) 3 times! After that, Diego moved up for good and STILL had trouble making weight. Facts are facts. It's not easy for someone who is that tall to fight at those weights. He is taking a chance every time that he can't make the weight. If he does, he can be drained.
Ariza said it many years later when he was no longer Diego's trainer that there were issues with Diego going into that fight. It's all facts.
Diego came in 2lbs over the weight limit against Floyd. All HBO talked about were Diego's issues. Writers did the same. Nothing new.
.
I guess you skipped the intro of the fight where all they spoke of is of Diego's problems:
- "Biggest distractions of Diego's life"
- "Going to prison because he beat up his pregnant .....
- "Had weight issues his 3 previous fights and was going to move up to 135"
- "Only way would go back down to 135 was to fight for a title ..... with Floyd"
- "Floyd knew that it would be harder at 130 than 135 for Diego to make weight ..... so that is why Floyd chose to fight Diego at 130 "

You are welcome to your opinion but I seriously doubt it. Everyone in the history of boxing takes in thousands of great fights and fighters. Have you seen them all? Have you even seen 5% of them? Corrales got the hell beat out of him by Clottey when he was still a young fighter. Corrales was an exciting puncher but not even close to being an all time great unless spitting out your mouthpiece on purpose to gain recovery time from a knock down makes you great.
That version of Pretty boy was beast.
I remember watching the fight.....twice.
That's the Floyd I want back.
