Supposedly this is being worked on behind the scenes while everyone is paying attention to the misdirection of a Pacquiao fight. Boxing insiders have been tweeting about it
I see why Floyd would do this:
1. Floyd can beat 'the man' @ middleweight
2. Hurts Golden Boy as it keeps the Cotto-Canelo fight from happening and upstaging his 'May-date'
3. Saves Floyd from the backlash of an Amir Khan match up which most fans seem to think should never happen
Aside from the political/strategic/business motives for the fight, is this a fight that you guys would want to see? And do you think it'd be any different now?
Because the drama leading up to a Pacquiao fight would be unbearably cheesy, I would prefer to live thru the Cotto matchup. Cotto would destroy him this time anyway. Cotto is a better bet to KO Floyd than Pacquiao. Pacquiao would bust him up but not knock him out. I want to see him doing that funky dance he likes to do.
Floyd would completely wreck him again though.
Um the fight I saw cotto lost cause he ran out of gas. Up until round 9 the fight was a nail biter. May took over thereafter. Properly conditioned, as cotto was for Martinez, I see a much different fight. Not saying who will win but I'd pay to see it. Why u ask. Cause may has two fights left. I want them to be good. Pac for one and cotto the other. I'd rather see cotto than any other fool with a absolutely no chance of winning. Say what u want about cotto but no one can say he has no chance of winning. I can say that about khan, Garcia, brook etc. those guys don't have a prayer.
my bad bro.
I think I should've rephrased the poll question here though. What I really wanted to know is if Floyd should get a pass from the boxing public for making this fight
No problems...
... and "Floyd" doesn't give a **** anymore about what the "public" wants... "Floyd" is the big hero for thousands of ghettos around the U.S. "Floyd' is the biggest "ghetto American dream" ever...
Genius you... :)

Yea, I don't know who really wants to see this fight.. It's an obvious way out for Floyd to avoid being upstaged by a Canelo vs Cotto fight on "his" date, while also continuing to avoid PAC.
Cotto IMO hasn't changed or improved enough to do much different a second time around.. I guess it really depends on how much Floyd has slipped...
No way in hell would I buy this fight though.

Marketable fight, Cotto seems more than willing to do good business ($15m + a share of the PPV upside is something I see Cotto working with), and you have the additional caveat of legacy being on the line (Cotto is Ring/WBC champion at middleweight; Cotto weighs in around 155, while Mayweather weighs in around 149).
Mayweather gets to run the show the way he wants, but more importantly he ****s Oscar De La Hoya (Saul Alvarez no longer has a worthy PPV fight) and Bob Arum (left to try and sell Pacquiao-Vargas as some epic style PPV-worthy showdown).
Mayweather-Cotto was a pretty good fight (Floyd won 9-3 imo, but there was ton of action). With the rematch, both fighters walk into the ring without any real worry over a weight cut, Cotto has a new trainer in his corner, and the styles seem to naturally mesh to make a good fight.
fine by me
No, typical recycled fight. The first fight was good but Mayweather clearly won and they can go seperate ways.
I'd rather see new blood meaning Cotto vs Canelo, Golovkin and Mayweather vs Pac, Khan, Brook, Thurman etc.
Can't really knock Floyd if he wants to go for the lineal mw title man
What's the f*cking point he won't fight Golovkin will he? Just another belt being held hostage.
it's funny how floyd fans talk trash about pac rematching yet they're all over floyd rematches.
Can't really knock Floyd if he wants to go for the lineal mw title man
Cotto is with Top Rank. If they can make this fight they can make Pacquiao
Cotto is not with Top Rank...he is a free agent with his own promotional company
Hahahahaha, Floyd fans voted yes because they know If Canelo get's this fight for the Mexican date in May that the only fight that will draw as much attention to a Cotto Vs Canelo fight will be Pac Vs Mayweather.
You silly little Floyd tools, why must you try and defend this gimp?
:nono::pat:
How do you know who voted what??? the poll is not even public
