Pac is a two fisted fighter, most likely a trait of him being "naturally" left handed but in many Eastern countries kids are told to write and eat etc with their right hands. So he learned to do both I guess.
If you think about where He came from (a small village in the Philippines), he probably had to learn on a right handed guitar. Also back in the day teachers would discourage leftys from writing with the left and forced them to use their right to "correct"them or maybe like my son he can switch my son writes righty but bats lefty and catches righty and eats lefty.
Probably easier to learn to write and find a guitar player who could teach you right handed.
Back in the day, natural southpaws would be converted orthodox because well.... there wasn't a trainer who could teach the southpaw style!
Some people are ambidextrous. I write with my right hand, eat with my left hand and shoot basketball with my left hand. He is probably right hand dominant but fought as a southpaw since he was a kid.
We're almost similar :)
I shoot basketball with my left hand, throw darts with my left, play tennis with my left hand, table tennis with my right, write with my right hand. I feel my left is stronger, but I have better control with my right.
Is Terence Crawford cross dominant? I notice he also boxes from southpaw but switches orthodox and does them equally well, doesn't he also write with both hands? Terence is the only fighter I seen who can fight comfortably from both stances.
here is Pac playing darts with both hands.
it's possible he's a righty fighting as a southpaw. Cotto and De la hoya are left handed and they fight in a conventional stance.Cotto and Oscar hit much harder with their left than with their right. While Pacquiao has a very strong right hand he hits much harder with his left. While he may be very coordinated with both hands the tremendous power in his straight left makes me sure he is more of a southpaw than a right hander.
Hell no. He has one of the best straight left hands in the history of boxing. He has an excellent right jab and right hook but he is absolutely positively a natural left hander.
The term is cross-dominance when you favour one side for some tasks and the other side for others. Ambidexterity is a form of cross-dominance where you are equally adapt on both sides. Very few people are truly ambidextrous though it can be learnt for some tasks, while cross-dominance is quite common.
if he is, his footwork is even better than i thought. it's usually a little more difficult to move when you've got your strong foot forward.
damn, the girl from charlie and the chocolate factory has grown :firedevil
I read somewhere early on that he was ambidextrous, good with both hands. Also that he had photographic memory. Two things that contributed to his special skills.
